Murphy's Day Come to an End

Kevin Murphy was crippled when he held {Q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{7-Hearts} and called his opponent's all-in bet of 54,000 on a flop of {a-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}. His opponent held {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{9-Hearts}{8-Hearts} and the board ended up running out {9-Clubs} and {5-Clubs}. That left Murphy with just 41,000.

On the very next hand, Hans Winzeler limped on the button and Murphy raised to 23,000 from the small blind. Winzeler made the call and watched the flop fall {A-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{10-Clubs}. Murphy moved all in for his last 18,000 and Winzeler reluctantly made the call.

Winzeler: {7-Hearts}{9-Spades}{J-Hearts}{7-Spades}
Murphy: {2-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{J-Spades}{8-Spades}

Surprisingly Winzeler was ahead with sevens, but Murphy had a lot of out. Unfortunately for the at-risk player, both the {9-Hearts} turn and {A-Diamonds} river blanked. A series of unfortunate events has resulted in Murphy being eliminated.
