A Set of Sets

With nearly 5,000 already in the pot and the board reading {q-Spades}{10-Spades}{2-Clubs}, betting action on the flop culminated with Eli Elezra betting 4,000, Andrew Watson raising to 12,000, and the player in the big blind going all in. Elezra and Watson both followed suit going all in as well and it was fairly clear to see why after the hands were tabled.

Watson: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}
Elezra: {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{2-Hearts}
Big Blind: {5-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{2-Diamonds}

Each player had flopped a set with Watson's hand dominating the other two. Because Elezra held a deuce in his hand the big blind was drawing dead and Elezra would need the case ten in the deck to win the entire pot.

The turn and river brought the {3-Spades} and {7-Diamonds} and Watson's hand held. Because Watson was the short stack of the three players, he won the main pot tripling his stack to around 60,000 and Elezra won the side pot putting his stack at 19,000.
