Elezra Escalates

2-7 Single Draw

The action folded around to the player in the cutoff who raised to 300 before the flop; Eli Elezra reraised to 875 from the button. The cutoff called and both players took one card before the cutoff checked, but looked green after Elezra led out for 1,100.

After about two minutes in the tank, the cutoff folded and Elezra laughed as he flashed {7-Spades}{7-Hearts} before raking in the pot.

Clements Reduced

Pot Limit Omaha

An opponent in the under-the-gun position raised to 350 before the flop and found one caller in the form of Scott Clements to go heads-up to a flop of {5-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{7-Spades}. The UTG player led out for 475 and Clements called before both players checked the turn of the {5-Hearts} and the river {8-Clubs}

The UTG player tabled {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}{3-Spades}{3-Clubs} and Clements threw his hand into the muck.

Catching Flack

Level 4

Layne Flack has just been eliminated in the limit hold'em round. Running short on chips, Flack got his money in with {6-} {7-} on an {8-} {7-} {2-} {5-} {5-} board. His opponent held {8-} {8-} in the hole, and a full house beats a missed straight draw any day of the week.

Flack's day is done early.

Badugi, Baby

Level 4

Scotty Nguyen was down to just 500 lonely chips when his final hand started, a badugi hand. Nguyen was all in before the draw, up against two players. He took two-one-one on the three drawing rounds, while his eventual knocker-out took one card twice, then stood pat.

At showdown, Nguyen revealed that his last draw had betrayed him, showing {5-Spades}{5-Hearts}{a-Spades}{4-Diamonds}. His opponent tabled a strong {2-Clubs}{3-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}, easily enough to send Nguyen packing, baby.

Wheel of Fortune for Mackey

Level 4
James Mackey
James Mackey

2-7 Triple Draw

Greg Raymer opened with a raise from the middle seat, and the button three-bet it. In the small blind, James Mackey put in the fourth bet, and both Raymer and the button called.

Raymer took two cards, the other guys took one, and Mackey led out. Raymer called, the button raised, and both Mackey and Raymer called the extra bet. On the second draw, Mackey took one card, Raymer two, and the button patted and bet. Mackey check-called while Raymer check-folded. Heads-up now, Mackey still needed to draw one, and he liked what he saw. He made the last bet, and the button called.

Mackey turned over {7-}{5-}{4-}{3-}{2-}, and the wheel is good in any game. It's particularly good here, scooping the pot to Mackey and pushing him up to about 11,000. Raymer is back down to 9,100.

Hearts For Harman

Level 5

Stud

Jen Harman is here. And George Lind wishes she wasn't.

Lind completed with the {Q-Clubs} up, and Harman three-bet with the {8-Hearts}. Lind came along, and they dealt out thusly:

Lind: (x-x) / {q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{3-Spades} / (x)
Harman: (x-x) / {8-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{2-Spades}{5-Hearts} / (x)

Lind bet his lead on fourth street, and he did the same on fifth. Harman called both of those bets, and she and Lind checked through sixth street. On seventh, Lind bet again, and Harman got in a raise to force Lind to put in two bets.

Harman revealed {k-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{a-Spades} underneath, and her flush was good enough to take her stack up to 10,000.
