Gromov Caught with His Hand in the Cookie Jar

On a 
flop we found Dmitry Gromov betting 425 into a single opponent in middle position. The middle position player made the call and both players were awarded the 
on the turn and again Gromov put out a bet, this time 775. After a call from the middle position player it was off to the river.
On the 
river both players checked, the middle position player showed 
for a pair of nines, no flush. Gromov mucked and his opponent said "nice try" and collected the pot.
