One Outer? No Problem
In what was undoubtedly the biggest pot of the tournament and one of the sickest beats you can witness, Oleksii Kovalchuk has doubled up off of Anthony Ruberto.
Preflop, Ruberto raised to 50,000 from the cutoff and Kovalchuk re-raised to 135,000 from the small blind and Ruberto made the call.
The flop came down and Kovalchuk led out for 150,000. Ruberto smoothly counted out his chips and put in a re-raise to 375,000. Kovalchuk then pushed out a stack of greens to make it 525,000 and Ruberto just called.
The turn was a and Kovalchuk moved all in for 1,386,000 and Ruberto insta-called turning over for a set of jacks and Kovalchuk was way behind with for a lower set and drawing to only the case .
Well... that case hit the river and the entire Amazon Room erupted in disbelief. After hitting the one outer, Kovalchuk doubled to just about 4,200,000 and Ruberto, who was our chip leader coming into the day and who had maintained that for the majority of Day 3, fell to just 550,000.
