Flush No Good For Selbst

Vanessa Selbst
Vanessa Selbst

Vanessa Selbst is out. The Team PokerStars Pro hasn't been able to get much going this WSOP so far, and hands like this don't help.

The pot was raised up to 250 preflop with three-way action. The flop came {6-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} and the player in the hijack bet 475. The cutoff got out of the way and Selbst, on the button, re-raised to 1,150. The player in the hijack then re-raised again to 3,050, Selbst moved all in for a little over 7,000, and the hijack called.

Selbst had {A-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} for the nut flush draw and the hijack had {2-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} for a set of twos.

The turn {j-Diamonds} gave Selbst the flush and the lead in the hand, but the river {2-Spades} gave the hijack quad twos and sent Selbst to the rail with a pretty nasty beat. It's been a tough start to the WSOP for Selbst but we certainly haven't seen the last of her
