Pezzin Backdoors Mencher

Level 15

Hold'em:

Action folded to Team PokerStars Pro Canada's Pat Pezzin in the cutoff seat and he raised. The big blind, Jason Mencher, three-bet and Pezzin called with position to his advantage to see the flop come down {9-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{3-Spades}. After the flop, Mencher bet and Pezzin called.

Fourth street was the {2-Spades} and Mencher stuck out another bet. Pezzin wasn't going anywhere just yet and made the call to see the river.

The {J-Spades} fell on fifth street and Mencher fired a bet. Pezzin put in a raise and his opponent made the call. Pezzin then showed the {K-Spades}{5-Spades} for a spade flush after having only flopped one spade and backing into it on the turn and river. Mencher showed pocket aces, but they were no good.

Pezzin climbed to 55,000 in chips.
