Sick Turn Gives McCarrel The Knockout

Casey McCarrel raised from the cutoff and the small blind made it three bets. Hiren Patel called from the big blind and McCarrel called as well as the players saw a {K-Spades}{9-Spades}{8-Diamonds} flop. The small blind led out and both players called which lead to the {Q-Diamonds} on the turn where the action got heavy. The small blind checked and Patel bet. McCarrel raised and the small blind made it three bets. Patel got out of the way and by the end, the small blind was all in against McCarrel.

McCarrel: {J-Clubs}{10-Spades}
Small Blind: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades}

The queen on the turn gave the small blind a set but McCarrel the nut straight. The small blind would need the board to pair on the river in order to avoid elimination. Unfortunately for him, it came the {2-Spades} and he was eliminated while McCarrel won the pot.
