"I thought I was ahead the whole time."
Two big stacks collided with Nicholas Rampone and Steve Watts. From middle position Watts opened for 15,000 and Rampone called from the button. The flop came , Watts checked, Rampone bet 14,000 and Watts called. The turn came and again Watts checked. Rampone bet 25,500 and Watts went into the tank.
While he was tanking he asked the dealer to spread the pot, counted out enough to call, then counted what appeared to raising chips and then went back into the tank. He eventually decided to call and the fell on the river.
Watts checked a third time and Rampone bet 80,500. Watts fished back and forth in his chair and moved enough chips out for a call. Rampone tabled for a rivered straight.
Watts looked down and mucked his hand and told Rampone he baffled him on that hand. Rampone simply replied, "I thought I was ahead the whole time."
