David Baker Eliminated in 17th Place ($396,967)

David Baker - 17th place
David Baker - 17th place

Sooner or later, the seal on the action at the outer table was going to break. It finally did in a big way. Jonathan Duhamel opened from middle position for 500,000 and was called by Matthew Affleck and big blind David Baker. Baker checked a {q-Spades}{2-Spades}{4-Clubs} flop to Duhamel, who continued for 1,175,000. Affleck folded to that bet; Baker went for an all-in check-raise of more than 5,000,000. Duhamel quickly called with the red kings, {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}, and found himself facing Baker's flush draw, {j-Spades}{7-Spades}. The volume of chatter in the room increased as the rail awaited the remaining two cards. The first was a board-pairing {q-Hearts}, taking away one of Baker's outs. The second was the {4-Hearts}, which ended Baker's Main Event run.
