Stories to Tell
The World Series is a fountain of colorful characters, many of whom become an integral part of the ESPN coverage. One player who you'll perhaps be hearing from more than any other, however, is David "Flip" Filippi, the older sibling of professional poker player Amnon.
Over the course of the day, David has been entertaining - and wowing - his table with various anecdotes from his action-packed life, one of which included the time where he was shot nine times. We didn't believe him at first, but then he lifted his shirt to reveal the bullet wounds.
When he's not escaping death, David is hitting the small screen, and even featured in an advert for Icebreaker mints where he paraded along a beach in hot pants.
"Hebrew school to heroin and back again," he confessed with a smile. "My attitude is gratitude, I'm just happy to be here." With Jack Ury a few tables along, the white section certainly has some stories to tell.
