Boatman Dissuades a Call
Barny Boatman, in early position, and the big blind somehow each put in about 2,000 chips pre-flop. On a flop of , the big blind lead out for 3,000. Boatman raised that bet to 8,500, prompting a bit of a tank from his opponent. That player then three-bet to 18,000, drawing a quick all-in shove from Boatman.
"You've got two outs," Boatman told his opponent while waiting for that player to act. Eventually Boatman's shove induced a fold, allowing him to climb to about 84,000 without a showdown.
