King Katchalov

Eugene Katchalov raised from middle position to 3,700 before the player on the button moved all in for around 36,000. The blinds folded but Katchalov made a quick call.

Katchalov: {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}
Opponent: {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}

The board bricked out {3-Spades}{7-Clubs}{2-Spades}{8-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} to leave Katchalov's kings in front as he sends another opponent to the exit on his way to a stack of 116,000.

Devilfish Talks His Opponent Out of a Call

A player in the hijack raised to 4,200 only to have David "Devilfish" Ulliott move all in from the cutoff for 11,300. The blinds got out of the way and action was back on the hijack.

As he was thinking, the Devilfish did what he does best and started talking to his opponent. Long story short, the Devilfish convinced his opponent that if he folded, he could look at his cards. The hijack agreed, folded and revealed the Devilfish's {A-Diamonds}{J-Spades}.

The Devilfish is still short however, sitting with around 18,500.

Another Setback for Phillips

Carter Phillips is trending downwards in the middle portion of the day. We caught him at the river of another big pot. Much like the last time we saw him, his opponent made a smallish bet of 18,000 with 40,000 already at stake. Phillips called the bet. His opponent turned up {k-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}, which made the second nut flush on a board of {4-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{3-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}. Phillips couldn't beat that hand and is down to 245,000 now.

Schoenberg Sinking

Schoen the way
Schoen the way

A gentleman raised to 3,200 in early position only for Erica Schoenberg to make it 6,500 in the cutoff. The player in the big blind called, the original raiser folded, and they were heads up at the flop.

Flop: {k-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{5-Clubs}

The player in the big blind checked to Schoenberg who bet 8,000. He called, and they were at the turn.

Turn: {8-Hearts}

Mr. Big Blind checked again, and this time Schoenberg checked behind. They saw the river.

River: {6-Clubs}

Mr. Big Blind now bet out 16,000, and without further ado, Schoenberg folded, leaving herself with 48,000.

Billirakis Outraces Hamby

With a raise from Steve Billirakis and a re-raise in front of him, Jared Hamby decided to ship it all in for his 57,000-chip stack. Billirakis made the call.

Billirakis: {J-Diamonds}{J-Spades}
Hamby: {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}

The race was on but the board bricked out {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}{9-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{6-Spades} to leave Billirakis' pair in front. Hamby is eliminated as Billirakis is now up to 185,000 chips.

Mizrachi Wins Modest Pot

ESPN had been filming a hand over at Michael Mizrachi's table and were about to leave when the Grinder announced, "Don't go away, I've got another hand." The cameras stuck around and Mizrachi raised to 4,100 from under the gun. He was called by a player in middle position.

The flop came {6-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{k-Hearts} and both players checked. They also checked through the {a-Clubs} on the turn, but when the river came {2-Spades} Mizrachi bet 5,000 and got the call.

Mizrachi tabled {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} and his opponent mucked.

The Boy Who Cried de Wolfe

There were three players in a pot of about 37,000 and a board reading {A-Spades}{10-Spades}{2-Spades}{10-Hearts}. Two players checked to Roland de Wolfe in the cutoff who bet 20,000. He received a call from one player and the {9-Clubs} came on the river.

His opponent checked, de Wolfe bet 30,000 and the other player check-raised all in. De Wolfe called for his tournament life and was eliminated when his opponent turned over {A-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}.
