Monsterpotten!

We picked up the action on the flop in what turned into a huge three-way pot. The board read {3-Clubs} {7-Spades} {Q-Hearts} when we walked up to the table, and there was about 35,000 already in the pot. First to speak was Frank Rusnak, and he fired out 19,500. Joe Gotlieb made the smooth call, but Brandon Holmes wanted to play for more. He reraised the pot, making it 97,500 straight and leaving himself with just a couple thousand chips behind. Rusnak raised again, folding Gotleib quickly and getting the rest of Holmes' remainder into the pot to put him at risk.

Rusnak turned over {K-Spades} {Q-Hearts} for top pair, but he would soon find out that he had some kicker problems. Holmes proudly opened up his {A-Hearts} {Q-Hearts}, in great shape to scoop the massive pot.

The turn {3-Spades} opened up some chop possibilities, but the {6-Spades} on fifth street locked up the pot and the more-than-double up for Holmes.

After the largest pot of the tournament thus far, Rusnak was left with just 2,000 chips, while Holmes soared into the chip lead with 275,000.
