Nice Pot Between the Blinds

Tomer Berda limped from the small blind and Bryan Porter checked his option from the big. The flop came {9-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{J-Spades} and Berda bet out 100,000. Porter called and the turn was the {8-Hearts}.

Berda checked and then called a 225,000 bet by Porter. When the {8-Spades} came on the river, Berda led out at the pot with a 500,000 bet. Porter called and showed {10-Spades}{7-Clubs} for a straight, which easily defeated Berda's {Q-Spades}{K-Clubs}.

Berda continues to slide and is down to 1.6 million while Porter is up to 2.6 million.

Ali Alawadhi Eliminated in 7th Place ($103,527)

Ali Alawadhi - 7th Place
Ali Alawadhi - 7th Place

Tomer Berda raised to 200,000 from under the gun and action folded all the way to Ali Alawadhi in the big blind who went deep into the tank. Alawadhi sat back in his chair with his arms crossed, staring at Berda before finally calling.

The second the flop fell {5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} Alawadhi moved all in. Berda didn't say a thing, he simply gather enough chips to call and slid them forward.

Alawadhi: {k-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}
Berda: {a-Spades}{6-Spades}

As Alawadhi's rail was shouting for a diamond, the dealer burned and turned the {9-Clubs} giving Alawadhi some extra outs. Now, any king, nine or diamond would give him the best hand.

The {j-Hearts} on the river would not suffice however, and Alawadhi was sent to the rail.

Berda, who had slipped momentarily, is now back over 3,000,000 chips.

Hung Moves All In

Tomer Berda raised to 200,000 from middle position only to have Hungcheng Hung move all in from the button for a total of 490,000. What looked like an easy call sent Berda in the tank for what seemed like an eternity. Finally, he made the call.

Berda: {6-Clubs}{4-Clubs}
Hung: {9-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

The flop was interesting when it came {K-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{Q-Spades}, giving Hung a straight but Berda the flush drawn. The turn was {4-Diamonds} and kept Hung in the lead. The rail leaned in as the dealer burned and put the {10-Spades} on the river.

Hung doubled to 1.175 million while Berda dropped to 2.3 million.

Joseph Curcio Eliminated in 8th Place ($78,705)

Joseph Curcio - 8th Place
Joseph Curcio - 8th Place

The chip and a chair dream is over for Joseph Curcio who was just eliminated in 8th place.

Vladimir Kochelaevskiy opened to 190,000 and the action folded to Curcio who moved all in from the small blind. Berda folded his big blind and Kochelaevskiy immediately called opening {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}.

Curcio tabled {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs} and needed some help, but the board ran {2-Clubs}{k-Spades}{2-Spades}{9-Spades}{8-Spades}. Curcio's heater has come to an end, and he is off to the cage to collect $78,705 for his efforts.

Kochelaevskiy's aces were cracked before, but after this hold he's back up to 3,400,000 chips.

Bonavena Back On Top

Tomer Berda raised to 200,000 from early position and Salvatore Bonavena made the call from the small blind. The flop came {6-Spades}{J-Hearts}{3-Spades} and both players checked.

The turn was the {3-Hearts} and Bonavena bet 250,000. Berda called and the {A-Hearts} came on the river. Bonavena grabbed a stack of green 25,000 chips and pushed them forward for a bet of 500,000. Berda folded and Bonavena showed the table his {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}, which sent the rail into a frenzy of cheers.

Window Shopping

Bryan Porter opened to 135,000 from the hijack seat and Vladimir Kochelaevskiy three-bet to 295,000 with the button. The blinds got out of the way and Porter moved all in. Kochelaevskiy snapped it off.

Porter: {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}
Kochelaevskiy: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}

The dealer burned a card, dealt three face down and slowly turned them over with the {8-Diamonds} sitting right in the window. The {k-Hearts} and {3-Hearts} followed, completing the flop.

Neither the {j-Spades} on the turn nor the {2-Spades} on the river improved Kochelaevskiy, and Porter doubled to 2,400,000 chips. Kochelaevskiy slipped to 2,275,000.

Big Pot for Kochelaevskiy

Tomer Berda raised to 150,000 from the hijack and Vladimir Kochelaevskiy called from the big blind. Both players checked the {Q-Clubs}{5-Spades}{5-Hearts} flop and the {A-Spades} came on the turn.

Kochelaevskiy checked and Berda bet 250,000. Kochelaevskiy check-raised 390,000 more and Berda made the call. When the {J-Diamonds} came on the river, Kochelaevskiy moved all in for 895,000. Berda thought about it and decided to make the call. Kochelaevskiy turned over {5-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} for trips. Berda mucked and dropped to 3 million while Kochelaevskiy is up to 3.3 million

Slow and Steady

Joseph Curcio opened to 130,000 with the button and was called by both Tomer Berda and Bryan Porter in the blinds.

The flop fell {7-Clubs}{7-Spades}{6-Diamonds} and Berda wasted no time firing 200,000 into the pot. Both of his opponents folded and Berda was shipped the pot.

Berda has practiced avoidance throughout most of the day today, but his slow and steady play has him as our chip leader with 4,750,000 chips.
