Berda Fighting Back

Tomer Berda raised to 350,000 with the button and Vladimir Kochelaevskiy defended his big blind.

The flop fell {9-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{4-Hearts} and Kochelaevskiy led for 410,000. Berda called.

The turn brought the {5-Spades} and Kochelaevskiy slowed down, checking to Berda. Berda took the opportunity to bet 700,000 and Kochelaevskiy released.

Berda chipped up to 5,200,000 chips while Kochelaevskiy slipped to 9,400,000.

First Major Pot

Vladimir Kochelaevskiy had the button and raised to 335,000. Tomer Berda called.

Both players checked the {a-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{k-Spades} flop, but after the {10-Hearts} turned Berda led for 300,000. Kochelaevskiy called.

Both players again checked after the {6-Hearts} rivered and Berda opened {4-Spades}{4-Diamonds}. It was no good against the {10-}{5-} of Kochelaevskiy however, and he was shipped the pot.

Tomer Berda - 4,800,000

Bryan Porter Eliminated in 3rd Place ($353,260)

Bryan Porter - 3rd Place
Bryan Porter - 3rd Place

Tomer Berda raised to 360,000 from the small blind and Bryan Porter moved all in. Berda instantly called and the hands were opened:

Berda: {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}
Porter: {q-Spades}{9-Spades}

Porter was already behind and the {a-Spades} in the window only made things worse. They were followed by the {2-Clubs} and the {3-Diamonds} completing the flop.

The {a-Clubs} on the turn was all she wrote for Porter, making the {5-Spades} on the river but a formality.

Porter will have to settle with $353,260 for his 3rd place finish while Berda is now heads up for a WSOP bracelet.

Berda Doubles

Bryan Porter raised to 265,000 from the button and Tomer Berda rereaised to 700,000 from the big blind. Porter moved all in and Berda called for a total of 1.525 million.

Porter: {5-Clubs}{5-Hearts}
Berda: {A-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}

Berda's tournament life was at stake when the flop came {K-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{6-Spades}. Suddenly Porter needed to catch to eliminate Berda. The {Q-Clubs} on the turn did not help and neither did the {3-Spades} on the river. Berda doubled on the hand to 3.1 million while Porter dropped to 1.7 million.

Shortstacks Battle

Our two short-stacked players, Tomer Berda and Bryan Porter, just had a blind-for-blind battle.

The two saw a flop of {9-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{k-Spades} after Berda min-raised to 240,000 from the small blind and Porter made the call. Berda led for 300,000 and Porter called.

Both players checked the {4-Hearts} on the turn and Berda checked again after the {10-Clubs} fell on the river. Porter took the opportunity to bet 500,000 and Berda folded.

10 Million Chips

Bryan Porter raised to 325,000 from the small blind and Vladimir Kochelaevskiy called from the big. The flop came {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} and Porter bet 325,000. Kochelaevskiy called and both players checked the {9-Hearts} on the turn.

When the {5-Diamonds} hit the river, Porter bet out 675,000. Kochelaevskiy stacked chips and pushed forward a raise to 1.785 million. Porter quickly mucked and Kochelaevskiy has broke the 10 million chip mark and taken a commanding chip lead.

Berda Doubles

Tomer Berda raised to 360,000 from the small blind prompting Bryan Porter to shoot up in his chair. Porter paused momentarily before moving all in and Berda snapped it off tabling {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}.

Porter sheepishly opened {k-Diamonds}{6-Spades}.

The flop had a king in it, but it also had a ten; {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}. The {2-Hearts} on the turn officially ended the hand making the {9-Diamonds} on the river nothing but protocol.

Berda doubled to 2,420,000 chips while Porter slipped to 3,800,000.
