EFro Takes a Step in the Right Direction

Eric Froehlich
Eric Froehlich

Reversing a bad run starts one hand at a time. Statistics haven't been kind to Eric Froehlich this summer, but there is still time to reverse his luck. The flop came out {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}, and EFro checked. Alexander Kostritsyn potted, and after two players behind him folded, the action was back to Froehlich. He moved all in for slightly more, and Kostritsyn called.

Froehlich: {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} for a set of ladies
Kostritsyn: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for top pair, top kicker and a backdoor club draw

The {4-Clubs} on the turn had EFro wondering if this was going to be one more runner-runner elimination, but the {7-Hearts} river was safe. After the stacks were counted, he had Kostritsyn slightly covered. The Russian headed home while Froehlich is up to 26,000.

Edit: Oops. One step forward, two steps back. Froehlich is no longer with us.
