Caramtti Finds Runner-Runner Flush

Bernard Ko opened to 60,000 from under the gun and found Niccolo Caramatti defending his big blind.

The flop fell down {5-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{6-Clubs} and Caramatti moved all in with Ko quick to make the call.

Caramatti: {J-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Ko: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades}

With Caramatti's stop-n-go not quite working, he found a {J-Clubs} on the turn to give him maximum outs to trips or two-pair as well as any club.

Fortunately for the Italian he managed to spike the {2-Clubs} on the river to stay alive and double through to 490,000 as Ko slips to 150,000 in chips.

Michael Eliminated

Brett Michael now eliminated
Brett Michael now eliminated

Brett Michael moved all in for 210,000 from the button and James Schaaf made the call from the big blind.

Michael: {4-Hearts}{4-Spades}
Schaaf: {K-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}

The board ran out {Q-Hearts}{2-Spades}{7-Spades}{6-Clubs}{A-Hearts} to see Michael eliminated as Schaaf climbs to 940,000 in chips as Michael hit the rail in 19th place.

My Two Pair is Better

It was a battle of the blinds in this elimination hand that was recounted to us by one of the players at the table. Aaron Kaiser limped from the small blind and Dustin Pattinson checked his option in the big blind.

The flop came down {10-}{9-}{8-}. Kaiser made it 30,000 and Pattinson called.

On the {2-} turn, Kaiser check-raised all in after Pattinson bet 75,000. Pattinson made the call and tabled {10-}{2-}. Kaiser showed {10-}{9-}.

The river was a meaningless five and Dustin Pattinson was eliminated in 20th place.

Trips for Obadia

William Prieto opened to 60,000 and Jose Obadia made the call to see a {Q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{J-Clubs} flop fall.

Prieto fired out 80,000 and Obadia made the call as the {2-Diamonds} was checked through on the turn.

Once the {Q-Spades} landed on the river, Prieto checked and Obadia fired out a bet of 125,000 which was called by Prieto.

Obadia tabled his {Q-Clubs}{7-Clubs} to collect the pot and move to 740,000 as Prieto slips to 295,000 in chips.

Two-Pair Double for Swick

Michael Swick moved all in from under the gun for 194,000 and Thomas Johnson made the call from the button.

Swick: {A-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}
Johnson: {Q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

The flop of {5-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} put Johnson in the lead and left Swick needing to find an ace or running cards for a straight or flush to stay alive.

The {4-Hearts} on the turn gave him an additional two outs while removing his backdoor draws.

However backdoor two-pair was one that Swick wasn't considering, but it was delivered by the dealer as the {A-Clubs} peeled on the river to send him to 445,000 as Johnson slips to 520,000 in chips.

E-Lee-minated

Bernard Lee in action before elimination
Bernard Lee in action before elimination

Bernard Lee made it 51,000 from the cutoff before he was faced with a raise from Aaron Gustavson from the button to 130,000. The blinds released and Lee moved all in. Gustavson snap called.

Lee: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Gustavson: {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}

The flop brought the card of doom for Lee. It came down {k-Spades}{2-Hearts}{2-Clubs}. Lee put his head in his hands heartbroken. The turn, {8-Clubs} brought no help, and the river {a-Hearts} sealed the deal. Lee would be eliminated in 21st place.
