Campbell Wins Battle of Shorties

If the chips aren't getting in pre-flop, they seem to be getting in on the flop. Robert Campbell opened from the small blind pre-flop for 2,200. The big blind, Peter Hernandez, had a slightly larger stack than Campbell and re-raised to 6,600. Campbell called, leaving himself just 4,000 behind.

Those 4,000 chips went into the pot first to act on a flop of {j-Spades}{6-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}. Hernandez quickly called with aces, {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}{9-Spades}{q-Hearts}. Campbell showed top pair and a low draw, {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{3-Spades}. The turn and river were running kings to give Campbell the scoop. He doubled up to 21,200, while Hernandez was left with just 1,200.
