Baker Doubles Through Chen

Hold'em

David Baker raised from the cutoff with Bill Chen calling in the small blind. Chen then realized Baker only had small change behind, so he bet in the dark with Baker calling off his last chips.

Baker: {K-Spades}{10-Diamonds}
Chen: {J-Clubs}{8-Clubs}

The board ran out {7-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{A-Diamonds} and Baker doubled up to around 180,000.

Juanda Takes Exception

Omaha-8

Kenneth Aldridge raised it up from the small blind and John Juanda called in the big blind. They saw a flop of {10-Clubs}{A-Spades}{3-Diamonds} and Aldridge fired a bet. Juanda called.

The turn was the {q-Hearts} and Aldridge checked, Juanda bet and Aldridge called. The {4-Spades} on the river was checked down.

Juanda showed {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{6-Clubs} for a pair of aces which Aldridge conceded was good.

Jeff Lisandro then asked to see the hand of Aldridge, since he was meant to open his cards first. Juanda took exception to this, since he didn't want Aldridge to suddenly find a better hand or perhaps a low that he didn't see. It was all safe though as Aldridge revealed {K-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{7-Clubs}.

Omaha-8

Phil Ivey raised before Albert Hahn re-raised all in with both Jeff Lisandro and Ivey making the call.

The flop was {A-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{5-Spades} and Lisandro checked, Ivey bet into the side pot and Lisandro called. Again it was check, bet, call on the {8-Diamonds} turn before both live players checked down the {Q-Clubs} river.

Lisandro showed {A-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{8-Clubs} and Ivey {K-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{4-Spades}{7-Clubs} to split the side pot and Hahn couldn't better either as he mucked his hand. He departs in 7th place for a collect of $38,391.

Omaha-8

John Juanda opened with a raised, David Baker re-raised before Phil Ivey made it four bets to play. Juanda called and Baker called all in for his last chips.

The flop landed {Q-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} and Ivey continued the aggression and led out. Juanda made the call.

On the {9-Clubs} turn, Ivey fired again and it was too much for Juanda as he released his hand.

Ivey: {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{2-Spades}
Baker: {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{6-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}

The river was the {J-Clubs} and Ivey scoops the lots with queens and nines, to eliminate Baker in sixth place for a payday of $50,871.

Nice Turn For Aldridge

Omaha-8

Kenneth Aldridge, John Juanda and Jeff Lisandro saw a cheap flop of {9-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}. Action checked to Lisandro who fired a bet with Aldridge making the call, as Juanda folded.

The turn was the {Q-Spades} and Aldridge led out with a bet. Lisandro called and both players checked down the {2-Diamonds} river.

Aldridge tabled {Q-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{2-Spades}{4-Diamonds} for a set of queens to scoop as Lisandro mucked. Aldridge is a 540,000 with Lisandro slipping to 700,000.

Chen Tries Some Table Talk

Razz

Phil Ivey: (X-X) / {2-}{4-}{10-}{9-} / (X)
Bill Chen: (X-X) / {J-}{3-}{7-}{J-} / (X)

Phil Ivey was facing a bet on the river from Bill Chen, and he just couldn't decide what to do. Ivey went into the tank and Chen decided to try some table talk.

Chen: "I caught it."
Ivey: "You caught it?"
Chen: "I had to have."
Ivey: "You had to have? Why?"
Chen: "You're too good for me to be talking to you."
Ivey: "We already started now!"

Lisandro: "Phil, you've got to make your mind up!"

Ivey decided to let it go and Chen raked in the pot.

Monster Razz Pot For Chen

Bill Chen
Bill Chen

Razz

Bill Chen now has a commanding chip lead following a rather interesting mutil-way razz hand. Kenneth Aldridge brought it in, Jeff Lisandro raised and Phil Ivey made the call. Bill Chen then re-raised and Aldridge called. Lisandro got out of the way and Ivey called once more.

On fourth, it was Aldridge who took the lead, and again he fired on fifth. The boards were getting raggedy by sixth, but Chen fired out a bet and his two opponents hung on before Chen fired again on the river. Aldridge made the call as Ivey folded.

Alrdridge: (X-X) / {8-}{9-}{K-}{Q-} / (X)
Lisandro: (X-X) / {7-}
Ivey: (X-X) / {8-}{K-}{10-}{10-} / (X)
Chen: ({A-}{4-}{5-}) / {2-}{Q-}{J-}{9-}

Chen showed a nine which was enough as he raked in the monster pot to move up to 2 million in chips. Ivey is down to 400,000 with Aldridge at 365,000.

Lisandro Crippled

Stud

Catching the action on fifth street, Kenneth Aldridge fired a bet and Jeff Lisandro called. Aldridge fired again on sixth before calling off his last chips on the river.

Lisandro: ({2-}{5-}{8-}) / {6-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{4-Spades}
Aldridge: ({K-}{j-}{8-}) / {J-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{K-Clubs}

Lisandro tabled a straight but Aldridge had made a full house to take down the pot and double up. Lisandro is left crippled with just 45,000 in chips.

Stud

Jeff Lisandro had fought back from the smallest of stacks earlier on this evening, but he wasn't able to do it again as his last chips went into the middle and never returned.

Lisandro was all in on third street against Kenneth Aldridge and the boards fell as follows:

Lisandro: ({5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}) / {6-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{4-Hearts} / ({K-Hearts})
Aldridge: ({8-Spades}{8-Clubs}) / {J-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} / ({4-Diamonds})

Both players started with a pair in the hole, but neither improved, leaving Aldridge's eights to take the pot and eliminate Lisandro in 5th place for a collect of $68,417.
