Running Like a Champ

Brad Gury went from 50,000 to 200,000 in two hands. Joe Cada stood by on the rail to cheer on his horse through both. The first is pretty unusual. Gury open-shipped eight big blinds with {a-}{8-}. Standard so far. But then another player in middle position decided to call with {10-}{5-}. Maybe he had a feeling, but it didn't work out for him, and Gury doubled up once. The next hand, he doubled again when his queens held against {a-}{j-}. Gury's now back in the game and still laughing about his ten-five gift.
