Ernst Schmejkal finds a double
Ernst Schmejkal finds a double

Ayaz Mahmood opened to 125,000 from the button and Ernst Schmejkal made the call from the big blind to see a {6-Spades}{3-Clubs}{5-Hearts} flop fall.

Schmejkal checked and Mahmood fired out 150,000 only to have Schmejkal check-raise to 425,000.

Mahmood leaned back in his chair and put his hands on his head before announcing "raise" and sliding in an additional 1,000,000.

Schmejkal moved all in for an additional 1,775,000 and Mahmood made the call.

Mahmood: {6-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}
Schmejkal: {5-Spades}{5-Clubs}

With the cooler flop bringing both a set and two-pair, the {J-Clubs} and {J-Diamonds} on the turn and river would ensure Schmejkal a double to 6,650,000 as Mahmood slips to 1,030,000 in chips.

Match 1: Three-Bet For Schmejkal

It has been a while since we have seen a preflop three-bet, but Ernst Schmejkal has just done so against Ayaz Mahmood.

Mahmood opened to 150,000 from the button and Schmejkal carefully cut out a re-raise amounting to 400,000.

A visibly anguished Mahmood took his time before tossing his cards into the muck to give Schmejkal the pot.

That's a pun, all right.

Ernst Schmejkal raised to 100,000, and Ayaz Mahmood called. They both checked down the {8-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{9-Clubs} flop and {4-Diamonds} turn. The river then brought the {3-Diamonds}, and Mahmood bet 250,000. Schmejkal called, and Mahmood turned over {4-Clubs}{3-Clubs} for two pair. Schmejkal mucked.

Mahmood -- 4.89 million
Schmejkal -- 2.7 million

Match 1: Ayaz Plays The Board

Ayaz Mahmood opened to his standard 120,000-chip raise from the button with Ernst Schmejkal making the call.

On the {K-Spades}{2-Spades}{6-Spades} flop, Schmejkal fired out 120,000 and Mahmood made the call to see the {6-Hearts} go check, check on the turn.

The river landed the {K-Hearts} and after a Schmejkal check, Mahmood tossed in a bet of 75,000 with Schmejkal making the call.

"I play the board!" announced Mahmood (which was impossible).

Schmejkal tabled his {A-Clubs}{3-Spades} and raked in the pot to put him back in the lead.
