Kessler Starts with Bad Luck

Hold'em

Allen Kessler came into Day 2 as a Top 10 chip stack but suffered a small setback in the first orbit. He and short-stacked Jorge Crespo got into a pre-flop raising war, with Crespo calling all in after Kessler made the fourth raise. Kessler turned over the pre-flop nuts, {a-Hearts} {a-Clubs}, and was in great shape against {9-Diamonds} {7-Spades} -- especially after the flop came {3-Hearts} {a-Spades} {5-Hearts}. But the turn {6-Spades} filled one half of a running straight draw for Crespo, and the river {4-Clubs} filled the other half. Crespo made a 7-high straight to collect the pot and double up.
