Anh Van Nguyen Eliminated in 10th Place ($32,614)

Anh Van Nguyen, 10th place
Anh Van Nguyen, 10th place

With the board reading {Q-Spades}{6-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{2-Hearts} on the turn, Anh Van Nguyen bet and Jameson Painter called. The river was the {A-Hearts} and Painter checked to Nguyen, who bet. After a long pause, Painter came in for a raise.

Nguyen let out a sigh and fiddled with the few yellow chips he had left before calling all-in for 34,000.

Nguyen showed {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} for top two pair, but Painter rivered the nut flush with {K-Hearts}{10-Hearts} and eliminated Nguyen on the final table bubble.

Dave Baker Eliminated in 11th Place ($32,614)

Dave Baker
Dave Baker

Dave Baker raised from the button, and Matt Keikoan stared him up and down before calling in the big blind.

Heads up, the flop came {K-Hearts} {6-Spades} {4-Hearts}. Keikoan checked, and Baker put out a bet that left him just 20,000 chips behind. His opponent promptly check-raised to two bets, and Baker sunk in his chair. He tanked for more than a minute before reluctantly saying, "Two more," and putting his last chips into the pot.

Showdown
Baker: {Q-Clubs} {10-Hearts}
Keikoan: {10-Spades} {4-Spades}

Keikoan was the only player with a pair, and in fact, Baker was drawing to just three outs. The turn {2-Diamonds} was a blank, and the {10-Diamonds} on the river was not enough to save him from elimination. He's out in 11th place, and we're just about to combine down to one table.

ODB Doubles Small

Dave Baker raised under the gun, committing all but 9,000 of his chips. In the big blind, Michael Mizrachi sighed loudly and then raised enough to put him in.

Baker: {10-Spades} {J-Clubs}
Mizrachi: {8-Clubs} {2-Clubs}

The board was safe and clean for the at-risk Baker, running out {10-Clubs} {4-Diamonds} {5-Spades} {2-Spades} {9-Spades} to double him back up to 99,000. There's still a long way to go, but that's a start for the Original David Baker.

Baker Gets Brock'd

Brock Parker opened for a raise, Dave Baker three-bet and Parker called. Parker led out on the {A-Spades}{9-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} flop and Baker called. The turn was the {10-Spades} and Parker checked to Baker, who bet. Parker called. The river was the {6-Spades} and Baker folded to Parker's bet.

Baker is down to 75,000 while Parker is up to 500,000.

Ray Rivers Chiu

The action was already on the river when we spun around and saw this hand in progress. David Chiu led out on the {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{10-Spades}{J-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} board and Kyle Ray raised. Chiu looked like a man that knew he was ahead until that very moment, but nevertheless made the call, turning over {K-Hearts}{Q-Spades} for a straight.

Ray turned over {9-Clubs}{9-Spades} for nines full and raked in the pot. He's nearing the 700,000 mark while Chiu is back down to 150,000.

Anh Van Nguyen Doubles Through Zvi Groysman

Zvi Groysman open-raised from UTG, Anh Van Nguyen three-bet from the small blind and Groysman called. The flop was {8-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} and Nguyen led out. Groysman called and they went to the turn, which fell the {2-Diamonds}. Nguyen bet his last 35,000 and Groysman called.

Nguyen {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}
Groysman {A-Spades}{9-Hearts}

The river was the {Q-Diamonds} and Nguyen doubled through his fellow Canadian to 235,000. Groysman was left with 350,000.

Parker Making a Charge

Brock Parker
Brock Parker

Brock Parker raised preflop, and both blinds called in the form of David Chiu (small) and Matt Keikoan (big).

Three-handed, the flop rolled out {6-Spades} {10-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds}, but the dealer realized she had forgotten to burn a card. The floor was called over, and they reconstructed the flop to determine that the {6-Spades} should have been the burn. "Are you 100% sure?" the floor person asked several times. The dealer was, and the players all seemed to agree, so the {6-Spades} was finally burned and replaced by the {6-Hearts}. Chuckles all around, and checks all around as well.

That brought the three men to the {K-Spades} turn, and action checked to Parker. He bet, and both opponents called to see the {8-Spades} on the river. Parker was allowed to bet one last time, and this time, neither of his opponents had the goods to call, sending that nice pot over to the bearded one.

Parker is up to 520,000 with those new chips added to his stack.

Chiu Kicks Mizrachi

David Chiu raised preflop, and Michael Mizrachi defended his blinds.

The two men took a flop of {3-Hearts} {K-Hearts} {8-Spades}, and Mizrachi checked. When Chiu bet, he raised, and Chiu came right back with a third bet over the top. Mizrachi called.

The turn was the {3-Spades}, and Mizrachi went ahead and fired right out again. Undeterred, Chiu raised again, and Mizrachi called to see the {6-Clubs} fill out the board. Mizrachi check-called one last bet, and Chiu tabled {K-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds}. That drew a long stare from The Grinder, and he eventually double checked his hole cards, flashing the {K-Spades} as he sent them to the muck.

Chiu - 425,000
Mizrachi - 335,000
