Mercier Scoops Mizrachi

Jason Mercier has a bracelet in a pot-limit omaha event and is looking to add to that in this fixed-limit split event. But prior to the dinner break he wasn't able to accumulate any chips.

Things started off better after dinner. He raised pre-flop and was called by Michael Mizrachi. Mizrachi check-called all the way down on a board of {7-Hearts} {k-Hearts} {5-Hearts} {8-Spades} {2-Spades}. At showdown, Mercier showed {a-Diamonds} {j-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} {4-Hearts} for the second nut-low and an eight-high straight. Both were good, allowing Mercier to scoop the pot.

We also had what we believe to be the first elimination from the tournament, just five minutes after play resumed. It must have been a long dinner break for that player.
