Gilbard Applying Pressure

The under-the-gun player min-raised to 600 and action folded to Alexis Gilbard on the button. She popped it to 1,450 and the blinds quickly folded. The original raiser called and the flop came down {J-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{5-Hearts}.

It was checked to Gilbard and she bet 1,600, getting a guick fold from her opponent and chipping up to about 7,000.

Getting Serious

With under 400 players left, you can sense that the atmosphere is getting a little more tense. The once jovial mood has definitely become more serious. The tables are breaking very fast and reaching the money tonight is a strong possibility.

Last Men Standing?

After competing a completely unscientific survey of the field, it looks as though we are down to our last two male entrants. The field has been erupting in applause whenever a male is sent to the rail. We'll let you know when the last cheer arrives.

Shaun Deeb Sent Packing

Shaun Deeb
Shaun Deeb

Shaun Deeb was the latest of the males in the field to be eliminated. His {a-}{j-} was unable to improve against Niago Wilson's {9-}{9-}. As promised, Deeb made good on the $100 bounty he put on himself and handed a c-note to Wilson.

Niago Wilson is now sitting on 4,700 chips.

Elizabeth Squeezed Out

We had a five-way pot on our hands when a player in early position limped, putting herself all in. The players in the cutoff and on the button both called, as did Shannon Elizabeth in the small blind. When the big blind checked her option, we were off to the flop.

The flop was {k-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{2-Clubs} and Elizabeth led out with a bet of 1,000. Action was folded to the player on the button who went all in over top, inducing a fold from Elizabeth.

Button: {K-}{q-}
All-in player: {j-}{q-}

Elizabeth looked happy with her decision to fold. The board ran out with the {7-Clubs} and the {a-Spades}, leaving the button player with the best hand and all the chips from a big pot.

Maridu Takes A Hit

Maria "Maridu" Mayrinck raised to 550 in the hijack and was called by the player in the big blind. The flop came down {7-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{9-Spades} and it was checked to Maridu. She bet 600 and her opponent called, leading to the {4-Diamonds} on the turn.

Her opponent came out betting 300 and Maridu called. The river brought the {K-Diamonds} and Maridu was faced with a bet of 1,000. We're not sure whether or not Maridu called (we were distracted by a Shaun Deeb hand), but we saw her opponent table {A-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} and Maridu with a stack of under 6,000.
