Three-Bet Aggression From Chen

Mike Wattel opened to 25,000 from the button only to have Yan Chen announce "raise!"

He tossed in three additional 5,000-denomination chips to firstly match the bet before cutting down an additional 50,000 in chips to amount to a 75,000-chip raise.

Wattel didn't take too long in producing a fold as Chen took down the pot.

On the first hand of heads-up play Mike Wattel received a walk.

The second saw him pick up the big blind and antes with a 25,000-chip raise.

Yan Chen finally got into the swing of things by making it 25,000 from his button to prompt a fold from Wattel.

Nick Binger - 3rd Place
Nick Binger - 3rd Place

One hand after Derric Haynie's elimination, Nick Binger moved all in from the small blind for a total of 66,000. Mike Wattel called from the big blind, and Binger knew it was bad news. He drew two, and Wattel took one. Wattel was drawing to a {9-}{6-}{5-}{2-}, and Binger held on to a {7-}{3-}{2-}. Binger's first card was a {6-}, keeping him in the game. The next one wasn't what he wanted - a {q-}. Wattel drew a {10-}, good enough to end Binger's tournament.

Wattel and Yan Chen are now heads up and fairly even in chips.

Mike Wattel opened to 18,000 from under the gun only to have Derric Haynie move all in for 143,000.

Wattel deliberated for nearly two minutes before making the call. Haynie stood pat tabling his {9-}{8-}{6-}{5-}{3-}, but Wattel would also stand pat and table his {8-}{6-}{4-}{3-}{2-}.

For Haynie's efforts, he collected $25,839 for his 4th placing as Wattel climbs to over 420,000 in chips.

Wattel Drops Two

Derric Haynie raised to 18,000, and Mike Wattel called and drew one. Haynie stood pat, and when Wattel checked, Derric showed a {10-}{9-}{5-}{4-}{2-}. Wattel mucked, and Haynie added a few chips to his stack.

The next hand, Wattel raised to 22,000 from the small blind. Yan Chen in the big blind reraised to 72,000, and Wattel declined to call. Wattel has now fallen under the 300,000 mark.
