Masa Mucks to the Raise

With 4,000 in the pot and the board reading {10-Spades} {6-Hearts} {5-Diamonds} {8-Spades} on the turn, the action was checked to Masa Kagawa who bet 2,500. His middle position opponent threw in a check-raise to 9,000, and after a bit of a think, Kagawa mucked his hand.

Kagawa is down to 14,000.

Two Pair. Yes!

A player at Table 152 was all in before the flop with {6-Spades} {7-Hearts}, and Will Mietz made the insta-call with {A-Spades} {A-Clubs}.

The flop opened the door just a crack as it came {10-Diamonds} {6-Hearts} {2-Spades} to get the all-in player halfway there. The turn would take away three of his outs though as the {10-Hearts} gave Meitz aces up. When the {7-Diamonds} hit the river, the all-in player's friend started shouting, "Yes! Yes! YES!!!" from the rail, failing to realize that his buddy's two pair was no good.

He was still shocked when his friend stood up and shook hands with the table, but aces up beats sevens up here at the Main Event.

The Wind's Out of Vos' Sails

What an unfortunate turn card for Mark Vos. Vos opened for 500 preflop, then reraised to 6,000 after the big blind made it 1,500 to go. The big blind called to a flop of {3-Clubs} {Q-Hearts} {9-Clubs}, and quickly check-called another 4,500-chip bet.

Both players checked the {J-Diamonds} turn. When the river was a seeming blank, the {7-Hearts}, the big blind bet 10,000. Vos called with {A-Diamonds} {A-Hearts} and was shown a turned set, {J-Clubs} {J-Spades}. Vos sighed and mucked, slipping to just 7,150 chips in the process.

Rouhani Wheels Out

In a limped pot, Farzad Rouhani led out for 450 from the big blind on a flop of {3-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}.

One of the limpers made it 2,000 to go, and once Zac Fellows folded on the button, Rouhani made the call.

The turn landed the {3-Clubs} and Rouhani check-called another 2,000-chip bet from his opponent to see the {A-Hearts} land on the river.

Both players checked, and when Rouhani tabled {5-Hearts}{2-Clubs} to best his opponent's {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}, he scooped the pot while climbing to 26,200 in chips.

Runner-Runner Good Enough for Baker

We imagine that Mandy Baker didn't necessarily anticipate her last pot developing the way it did. She was the only player to call a bet of 2,900 made by the small blind on a flop of {6-Clubs} {8-Hearts} {A-Diamonds}. The turn was the {10-Clubs}, which Baker took the opportunity to bet (for 5,000) after the small blind checked. That player called, then check-called another 8,000 on the {9-Diamonds} river. Baker turned up {10-Spades} {9-Spades}, a running two pair that bested her opponent's {A-Spades} {K-Diamonds}.

Baker is up to 44,000.

Colin Hits and Holds

Most of the all-in bets and raises that are called in this stage of the proceedings involve two big hands colliding. With 25,000 in a three-handed pot, Bryan Colin moved all in for 11,675 more. The board showed {7-Clubs} {5-Spades} {A-Clubs} {6-Hearts} and Colin was called by a player with {7-Diamonds} {7-Hearts}. Colin turned up {9-Clubs} {8-Clubs}, a combination draw that filled a gustshot straight on the turn. The river {9-Hearts} didn't change anything, allowing Colin to double up to 49,000.

Slaubaugh Slayed by Elezra

It's hard to catch hand details over at the featured table, but we did see Cody Slaubaugh make an early exit.

What we could tell was that the board read {K-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds} {3-Spades} {2-Spades} {6-Clubs}, and Slaubaugh was all in on the river. Elezra was right there to look him up with {K-Diamonds} {6-Spades}, and his two pair had Slaubaugh's {K-Spades} {5-Spades} crushed.

That's the end of the day for Cody.

The Master Concedes

We caught the action as Men "The Master" Nguyen called his opponent's 2,100 chip raise on a flop of {A-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{3-Hearts}.

Nguyen then check-called an additional 4,500 when his opponent bet at the {8-Diamonds} on the turn. The river brought the {2-Spades} and another check from Nguyen. He then folded when his opponent moved all in for his last 5,575. Nguyen's stack now stands at 23,000.

Orange You Glad We Spotted More Notables?

We're not sure where they're coming from, but we have several new arrivals to the Orange Section. Mandy Baker is on Michael Tureniec's table; Mark Vos has joined Mel Judah and Peter Hedlund; Brian Townsend is here and of course the recently-mentioned Isaac Baron is at a table all the way at the back of the room.
