Steve Gets a Fossil, Man
The first opponent needed to draw two on the last round, and he ended up with a good low spoiled by a bad ace. Raymer tabled his four good cards: 6-5-3-2, drawing one to stay alive. He squeezed it out, then shrugged and flung a king into the center of the table for an airball.
"Z-o-l-o-t-o-w, right?" Raymer spelled it out to make sure he got it. He signed his fossil with a black marker, handed it to Zolotow with a shake of the hand, and set off into the room to check on the rest of the field.
More than five minutes later, Raymer is still meandering around the room chatting it up.
