From The High To The Hi-Lo

Stud

The last two hands of Stud were ended rather abruptly when the board paired up.

John Hanson collected a pot on fourth street with a pair of kings showing against Huck Seed, while Vitaly Lunkin did likewise next hand showing a pair of tens by fifth street to force a fold from Ville Wahlbeck.

We're now on to Stud-8!

Two Pair is Better Than One

David Bach

Stud

David Bach (X)(X){K-Spades} {A-Diamonds} {Q-Spades} {7-Hearts} (X)
Ville Wahlbeck (X)(X) {4-Diamonds} {7-Spades}
John Hanson (X)(X) {10-Hearts} {Q-Hearts} {7-Diamonds} {7-Clubs} (X)

David Bach completed on third street and both Ville Wahlbeck and John Hanson called. Bach led out on fourth street, Wahlbeck folded and Hanson called. Back led again on fifth and Hanson called. On sixth, Hanson made an open pair of sevens and bet out, Bach raised and Hanson called. Bach bet the river and Hanson looked him up.

Bach showed {5-Spades} {5-Hearts} {3-Diamonds} for only a pair of fives. Hanson turned up two pair sevens and tens and won the pot.

Plenty of Room

This event has received tremendous support from the fans on the rail over the past four days, with railbirds three deep and hanging onto every vantage point to catch a glimpse of their favorite players.

It's interesting to note that as this event reaches it's climax, in the comfort of the ESPN feature stage, there is currently plenty of spare seating available for those looking to see the action up close.

Perhaps the lack of big TV personalities from this final table has kept the fans away today, or maybe the seats will start to fill as the evening progresses.

River Check-Raise Good For Lunkin

Stud

Sagstrom: (X-X) {10-Spades}{K-Clubs}{8-Spades}{J-Clubs} (X)
Seed: (X-X) {K-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} (X)
Lunkin: (X-X) {A-Spades}{9-Spades}{4-Hearts}{5-Hearts} (X)

David Bach was the bring in with the {4-Clubs} and Erik Sagstrom completed. Huck Seed called before Vitaly Lunkin raised. Bach folded as Sagstrom and Seed both called.

Lunkin led the betting on fourth, fifth and sixth streets as all three players went to the river. Lunkin then checked, Sagstrom checked and Seed bet. Lunkin then announced a raise to force a fold from Sagstrom. Seed gave a wry smile and shrugged before releasing his hand as Lunkin collects a very nice pot.

Jacks Up for Huck

Sagstrom Pairs Up To Take It Down

Stud

Bach: (X-X) {Q-Spades}{J-Spades}{8-Hearts}
Sagstrom: (X-X) (?) {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}

John Hanson was the bring in with the {3-Spades} as David Bach completed. Erik Sagstrom made the call with an unknown card as the table folded around.

Sagstrom check-called on fourth but paired his king on fifth and fired a bet which was enough to take it down.

Share and Share Alike

They may be foes on the felt, but Erik Sagstrom and John Hanson are presently sharing a pack of some of the delicious Jack Link's beef jerky that has been brought to the table. Looks like teriyaki flavor from here...

Lunkin Starts Well in Stud

Stud

After the Razz round ended rather uneventfully, the players moved over to Stud with Vitaly Lunkin collecting the first pot of the round against Erik Sagstrom.

Sagstrom: (X-X) {J-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}
