The Brat Busto

Phil Hellmuth
Phil Hellmuth
Omaha/8

Phil "Poker Brat" Hellmuth is out, having never been able to accumulate chips much at all today.

He had all of his short stack in the middle on a {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{5-Clubs} flop against two opponents. The turn was the {5-Diamonds}, and the river the {7-Diamonds}. One showed {A-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{4-Spades}{3-Diamonds} for a flush, and Hellmuth mucked.

It Could Be R-S-E

Allie Prescott just commented on how he has been moved five times during the course of the day, and that four of the five times he's moved, his new table has just started the limit hold'em round.

"Usually I get to razz, then they move me again," he said.

"So you've basically been playing H-O-R, then," said Bryan Devonshire.

One For Binger

Omaha/8

The player sitting under the gun limped, Michael Binger raised from middle position, the player sitting to Binger's left in the hijack seat called, Tuan Le called from the button, the blinds folded, and the original limper called.

The flop came {5-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}. It checked to Binger who bet, the hijack folded, Le called, and the UTG player called as well. The turn was the {Q-Hearts}. It checked to Binger who again bet, and this time only Le called.

Both checked the {J-Hearts} on the river. Binger opened his hand -- {A-Spades}{7-Spades}{4-Spades}{3-Hearts} -- then opened his hands, non-verbally saying "it ain't much." His pair of aces were enough, though, as Le mucked.

Binger has 14,200, and Le 31,000.

Are We Not Men? We Are Devo

2-7 Triple Draw

Bryan "Devo" Devonshire raised from middle position, Doyle Brunson reraised from the big blind, and Devonshire called. Brunson drew one, Devonshire drew two, Brunson bet, and Devonshire called.

On the second draw, both players took one card. Brunson again bet, and Devonshire called. Brunson stood pat on the last round, while Devonshire asked for one card. This time Brunson checked, and when Devonshire bet, Brunson let it go.

Brunson has 5,200 now, while Devonshire is up to 19,000.

Slow Cooked and Mesquite Smoked

Layne Flack has just now found a couple of bags of Jack Link's Beef Jerky (not hard to do -- they're everywhere) and has gone down the path many others have tread over the last few weeks here at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino. That would be the path to the bottom of the bag, having discovered like many others it is especially difficult to eat just one piece of the stuff.

Not surprisingly, Flack now finds himself feeling a little parched. "Cocktails!" he just cried. "I've got a bigger order this time!"

Flack has about 20,000 at the moment.

Alioto on the Ascent

Dario Alioto just took a 2-7 Triple Draw hand from Maria Ho. They both took a card on the second draw, and Ho called Alioto's bet. On the last draw, Ho took one and Alioto stood pat. Ho picked up a queen on the end, showing {Q-}{5-}{4-}{3-}{2-}, meaning Alioto's 9-low was good enough.

Alioto has a healthy stack of over 25,000, while Ho is down to just 2,800.
