The action started when Tyler Spalding opened with a raise to 160,000. Richard Lutes made the call down the line, and Jonathan Markham moved all in for a total of 400,000 even. Spalding asked for a count before eventually calling, but Markham moved all in for another 350,000 on top of that! Spalding had little choice but to make the call, though he did so reluctantly, putting both opponents at risk of elimination.
