Smith Boosted with Scoop

Abe Mosseri (X)(X){8-Hearts} {Q-Hearts}
Justin Smith (X)(X){A-Hearts} {9-Diamonds} {J-Hearts} {J-Spades} (X)
Perry Friedman (X)(X){Q-Diamonds} {A-Diamonds} {7-Hearts} {4-Diamonds} (X)

Abe Mosseri brought it in, Justin Smith completed, Perry Friedman called and Mosseri called as well. Friedman caught an ace and led out on fourth, Mosseri folded and Smith called. Friedman bet fifth, Smith raised, and Friedman asked what he had behind. The answer was 14,000 and Friedman set him all in. Smith made the call.

"I have kings," said Friedman, who turned up {K-Hearts} {K-Clubs}. Smith had him, though, with {A-Clubs} {4-Clubs} in the hole for a pair of aces. Smith made aces up on sixth, and caught the {10-Hearts} on seventh, while Friedman hit the {4-Diamonds} and the {4-Spades} to make kings up. They were no good, and Smith scooped the pot, doubling his stack to 220,000. Friedman was left with 290,000.

Scotty Loses Again

Farzad Rouhani just scooped Scotty Nguyen in a pot worth over 100,000 chips. Scotty tabled two pair, jacks and nines, at the end of the hand in which both players were showing high boards. Rouhani bested Scotty's two pair with a better two pair of his own, kings and tens. Nguyen dropped to 127,000 chips.

Jeff Lisandro had the bring-in with the {2-Diamonds}, Scotty Nguyen completed, Abe Mosseri raised, Lisandro folded and Nguyen called. Mosseri continued to lead, betting fourth, fifth, and sixth streets, Nguyen calling him down. Both players checked on the river.

Mosseri turned up {A-Hearts} {4-Hearts} {J-Spades} for two pair jacks and sevens. Nguyen mucked and Mosseri scooped the pot, taking him up to 935,000. Nguyen was left with 210,000.

Smith Getting Irritated

Smith: (X-X) {K-Diamonds} {8-Clubs} {6-Diamonds} {7-Clubs} (X)
Rouhani: (X-X) {A-Spades} {Q-Clubs} {2-Clubs} {5-Clubs} (X)

After Abe Mosseri completed, Justin "BoostedJ" Smith raised, and then Farzad Rouhani reraised. Smith made the call.

Rouhani then bet on fourth, fifth, and sixth. Smith called each time. On seventh, both players checked. Rouhani turned up {A-Clubs} {10-Diamonds} for a pair of aces, but left his seventh card face down.

"Don't peel, just turn up your card," said Smith. Rouhani then took his time and peeled the {2-Hearts} to make aces up. Smith mumbled something, as he was displeased at the way Rouhani went about showing his hand at the end. Smith did show {K-Clubs} {9-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds} and then mucked.

Smith Wakes To Play a Hand

In between hands, Justin "BoostedJ" Smith has been putting his head down on the table and taking little naps. He did pop up to play out this hand.

Mosseri: (X-X) {4-Hearts} {A-Hearts} {7-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds} (X)

Wattel Can't Fade a Chop

Mike Wattel arrived a few minutes late to the start today and lost some chips from the blinds and antes. He just found himself all in on fifth street against Anthony Rivera. Rivera had four to a low and Wattel had two pair. On sixth street, Wattel filled up, but Rivera was able to complete his low on seventh and rake in half of the pot.
