Martin Jacobson opened with a raise to 38,000. Next door, Marc Whitford moved all in. It took quite a while to count down his stack, as the shaky-handed dealer was having difficulty stacking down the chips. In the end, it looked like 99,000 more to call, and Jacobson did just that, putting Whitford at risk.

The flop was safe for the all-in player, coming . A dangerous landed on the turn though, and the that spiked the river made Jacobson the winning flush. Whitford shook his opponent's hand, wished the table luck, and departed as the first elimination on Day 3.
In the second hand of play, the table folded around to James Mackey in the small blind who pushed all in. Young Phan, short-stacked at about 200,000 in the big blind, folded face up. "Five-high," he said.
On the next hand, the table again folded to Mackey on the button, and he raised to 40,000. Phan then announced he was all in from the small blind, but Mackey let it go before Phan's chips could be counted.
Welcome back for the final day of Event #34, the latest installment in a series of $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em events.
When play wrapped up at 3:00am last night, 21 players still had chips in front of them. Those remaining players are back today for the run to the final table and the bracelet.
The chip bags are out on the tables, and the players have just begun to trickle into their seats. After the administrative loose ends are tied up, we'll be all set to go -- shooting for an on-time start at 1:00pm.
We'll be right back when the cards are in the air.
