Ivey Chips Up Early

Phil Ivey has chipped up after firing a bet on the river in a recent Stud-8 hand, with Steve Wong making the call. Ivey tabled kings and fours for two pair, which beat Wong's jacks and deuces. With no low out there, Ivey scooped and moved up to around 260,000 chips.

Chad Brown Eliminated in 14th Place ($10,481)

Chad Brown - 14th Place
Chad Brown - 14th Place
Chad Brown only had 23,000 chips overnight and committed them in one of the first Stud-8 hands of the day. He was up against Ming Lee and Carlos Mortensen, but Lee bet into the side pot to force a fold from Mortensen on fifth. The boards were as follows:

Mortensen: {4-Clubs}{K-Spades}{A-Spades}
Lee: ({4-Hearts}{8-Hearts}) {5-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{6-Clubs} ({3-Clubs})
Brown: ({2-Spades}{4-Diamonds}) {8-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{3-Spades} ({6-Spades})

Lee made an eight-high straight and six-low which was too good for Brown as he became our first casualty of the day, eliminated in 14th place.
