Nenad Medic
Nenad Medic
60,000 chips were already in the pot when the flop came down {9-Hearts} {7-Spades} {6-Spades}. Nenad Medic checked from UTG, Marco "CrazyMarco" Johnson bet 135,000 and Medic called all in for less.

Medic {J-Hearts} {J-Diamonds}
Johnson {5-Diamonds} {6-Clubs}

Though Medic held the lead on the flop, Johnson hit two pair when the {5-Clubs} came on the turn. The river was the {2-Hearts} and Medic hit the rail while Johnson increased his stack to 275,000.

Giang Busts Chang (Cha-Ching)

We picked this one up as Chau Giang and Weikai Chang were both checking the {6-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} flop. The turn came the {Q-Clubs}. Giang checked, Chang pushed all in for his last 31,200, and Giang called.

Chang showed {J-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for a pair of jacks and a club flush draw, while Giang turned over {K-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} for a pair of queens. The river was the {6-Diamonds}, and Chang was eliminated. Giang now has 210,000.

Phil Laak Eliminated

Phil Laak
Phil Laak
From late postion David Baker raises and Phil Laak moves all in for 50,000 from the button. Baker calls with {J-Diamonds} {J-Hearts} and is in a race situation against the {A-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds} of "The Unibomber."

The board comes {9-Hearts} {5-Spades} {4-Spades} {6-Clubs} {7-Clubs} and Laak's ace-king falls short. After being one of the first players to double up today, Laak falls short of making Day Two.

Ivey Ends Hellmuth's Day Early

Phil Ivey
Phil Ivey
Phil Ivey had put in a preflop raise from middle position, and it had folded around to Phil Hellmuth who decided to push all in for approximately 90,000 from the small blind. Ivey made the call.

Hellmuth turned over {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}, finding himself behind Ivey's A-K. "He raises my blind five times, then when I make a move he's got a hand," lamented Hellmuth.

The board came {K-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{9-Clubs}, giving Ivey the hand. Thus did Hellmuth's day -- which began a couple of hours after most of the other players' -- conclude about an hour before the day's scheduled end.

Ivey now has 325,000.

Rousso Gets Mizzi'ed

On a flop of {5-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds} {4-Hearts}, Sorel Mizzi bet 8,800 and Vanessa Rousso called. The {3-Spades} on the turn brought checks from both players, but Mizzi fired again for 24,500 when the {3-Hearts} fell on the river. Rousso made the call.

Mizzi turned up {9-Hearts} {9-Diamonds} for nines and fours and Rousso mucked. After the hand, Mizzi was up to 370,000 while Rousso was down to 114,000.

Poker is nice... I love to play poker...sometimes

The turn was the {5-Spades}, the river was the {8-Hearts} and Gould raked in the pot, his stack up to 180,000. Giang was left with 105,000.
