2009 World Series of Poker
Event 19 - $2,500 Six-handed No Limit Hold'em
Day: 3
Crane now has about 1.3 million, while Rios has 750,000.
The flop of is checked by both, before Rios leads on the for 81,000. Parker makes the call and Rios bets 97,000 on the river. Parker raises to 275,000 and Rios folds speedily.
The dynamic of the table has certainly changed, earlier when Serock had about 40% of the chips in play, his raises were going unchallenged. Now that he's lost a few and the short stacks have caught up a bit, people are less afraid to play back at him and he's had to fold quite a few of his raises and reraises in the last hour or so.
Russell Crane opened with a raise to 76,000 from the button, claiming the blinds and antes.
Then the table folded to Joe Serock in the small blind who raised to 90,000, and Alex Wilson gave up his big blind.
Next, Brock Parker raised to 77,000 from the cutoff, claiming the blinds and antes.
Finally, Alex Wilson raised to 77,000 from the button, and Jesse Rios called from the big blind. The flop came . Rios led for 75,000, and Wilson folded.
Crane is now probably third in chips with about 1.25 million.
Rios already has multiple cashes at this WSOP, and has said he is interested in pursuing Nikolay Evdakov's record of 10 cashes set at last year's series. "I want to play the 5 p.m.," he was overheard saying earlier, referring to the $10,000 World Championship No Limit Deuce to Seven Draw that is just getting underway. Not sure if he's going to make that one -- we'll see.
