Just before the break, Perry Friedman found himself involved in a rather upsetting three-way pot. The gent on the cutoff raised all in for not many chips, and the gent on the button called. Over to big blind Friedman, who announced all in. Eventually the button called, and they were on their backs, Friedman well ahead.

Friedman: {Q-Spades} {Q-Hearts}
Cutoff: a rather optimistic {2-Hearts} {3-Hearts}
Button: {8-Spades} {8-Diamonds}

Board: an unbelievably exciting {K-Hearts} {6-Clubs} {5-Diamonds} {7-Hearts} {4-Hearts} to give Mr Cutoff a flush, taking the main pot, and Mr Button a straight to take the sizable side pot.

"WOO!" declared Mr Button. "WOO! WOO!" and banged his fist on the table in a rather ungentlemanly manner. It was loud and brash enough for one of the floormen to upbraid him: "Sir, there is no need to beat the furniture."

Friedman is down to 23,000.
