Jaka Cracked

Faraz Jaka is busto after getting involved with Eric Ladny. Ladny raised from the hijack and Jaka just flatted in the cutoff, and they proceeded to the {5-Diamonds} {6-Hearts} {9-Clubs} flop. All the chips went in, and Jaka turned over {A-Hearts} {A-Diamonds} -- but Ladny's {9-Diamonds} {9-Spades} had made a set, and a marked absence of aces on the {K-Clubs} turn or {8-Diamonds} river sent Jaka to the rail.

Goodson Comes Good

Three-way all-in silliness now that cost two players their tournament lives.

Ben Lamb, down to just 40,000 after getting his aces cracked a few hands back, shoved from the cutoff, only for Sabato Umberto to re-shove for 51,000 total. Robert Goodson in the small blind thought about it for a while before eventully deciding he was good, and called. On their backs.

Lamb: {A-Diamonds} {9-Clubs}
Umberto: {A-Spades} {Q-Diamonds}
Goodson: {A-Clubs} {K-Clubs}

Astoundingly no-one hit anything down the {J-Clubs} {8-Spades} {5-Hearts} {6-Clubs} {2-Hearts} board, and the best hand won. Lamb and Umberto are both busto, and Goodson is up to 250,000.

Sunshine for Gray

Jason Gray got his last 28,400 in with {A-Diamonds} {9-Spades}, and it was a small enough push that he got looked up by a very speculative {Q-Diamonds} {2-Diamonds}. Duly, a double up for Gray on the {K-Spades} {K-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds} {8-Hearts} {5-Hearts} board, and he now has a much more comfortable, but to be honest still not fantastic, 60,000.

Bobby Bresner: 85,000

Perry Bad Luck

Oh well.
Oh well.
A massive pot has propelled Perry Friedman out of the tournament, and propelled early Day 2 chip leader Peter Rho back into the lead.

Friedman raised to 15,400 in late position, only for Rho to make it 43,000 from the small blind. Friedman pushed, Rho called, and they flipped their cards.

Friedman: {A-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds}
Rho: {9-Hearts} {9-Spades}

Flop: door card {Q-Clubs} ... then {J-Clubs} {9-Diamonds}

Turn: {9-Clubs}

Rho made quads, and it was all over for Friedman before the {5-Clubs} river. "At least I made the next pay jump!" he said cheerfully as he exited in 71st place.

Two Minutes 'Til Breaktime

It looks a little as though play may be starting to slow down -- terrible news if we are to have any hope of making final table tonight. Nevertheless, players will be heading off for a 20 minute break in a couple minutes, so hopefully some coffee/Red Bull/whatever the blue drink they sell in the Poker Kitchen is will perk them up some and we'll see the pace upped come level 17...

Moth Disrupts Play

Players are currently being distracted by a single, gigantic moth that has somehow managed to sneak past security and into the tournament area. It will most likely be dealt with severely.

20 minute break.
