Still More Eliminations

Brad Hood, David Baker, Tyron Krost and Olivier Busquet, short stacks all around, have all left the tournament area here in the Amazon Room. Hood was short, and pushed {Q-Hearts} {9-Spades} into Tom Cope's Big Slick. Cope wound up making trip aces to take Hood out.

Baker was also short, down to just 65,000, and pushed {Q-Clubs} {J-Clubs} into Alfredo Fernandez's {A-Hearts} {J-Diamonds}. Neither player improved on a board that came out {10-Spades} {9-Hearts} {9-Diamonds} {9-Clubs} {2-Hearts}.

Krost can say he was taken out by Gus Hansen. Again the money was in the middle preflop. This time it was a race, Krost's {A-Spades} {J-Spades} against Hansen's {6-Diamonds} {6-Spades}. Hansen hit the {8-Clubs} {6-Clubs} {3-Clubs} flop with a set; the turn {7-Clubs} gave Krost outs to a chop, but he missed on the {4-Hearts} river.

Busquet engaged in a series of preflop raises with Mark Vos before the money went in. He had {8-Diamonds} {8-Hearts} against Vos' {A-Diamonds} {k-Spades}, another race situation. This time the overcards won it when the board ran out {A-Spades} {7-Diamonds} {9-Hearts} {5-Hearts} {3-Hearts}.
