Coda: Aleksandr Rasic

Aleksandr Rasic, the player who couldn't find his stack for the first thirty-five minutes of the current level, has been eliminated from the tournament in unusual fashion. He folded hand after hand at his table, his stack slowly dwindling chip by chip. As he got super short, he went to the floor supervisor's table to check where the next pay jump would be (288th place). At that time, 292 players remained. Rasic began to take a lot of time to make every decision, to the point where a floor was summoned to the table and permanently stationed there. He gave Rasic decreasing amounts of time to make his decision on each hand, to the point where Rasic was given only ten seconds to make a decision before a ten-second clock was called on him.

Rasic had a mere 2,000 chips left in his stack when an announcement was made over the P.A. system that the players had reached the next pay jump. He immediately pushed all in for his last 1,000 (after the 1,000 ante) and got some protection when a player behind him, Kyle Carlston, raised to 20,000. Everyone else folded.

Rasic: {Q-Clubs} {10-Diamonds}
Carlston: {7-Hearts} {7-Spades}

Surprisingly, it was a race for Rasic -- one that he lost when the board came {7-Diamonds} {6-Hearts} {3-Spades} {4-Spades} {Q-Diamonds} to make a set of sevens for Carlston against Rasic's pair of queens.

Rasic is definitely out now, having just squeaked into the next pay jump.
