Big Stack Defends Big Blind

Gert Andersen raised to 40,000 from middle position, and it folded around to Nikolay Losev, who called from the big blind.

The flop came {2-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{A-Hearts}. Losev checked, Andersen bet 60,000, and Losev called. The turn was the {Q-Clubs}. Both checked.

The river brought the {3-Hearts}. This time Losev pulled out a stack of twenty orange chips and set it out before him -- a bet of 100,000. Andersen immediately let it go.

Losev is up to 2.24 million, while Andersen currently has about 475,000.

Saab Calls It Right

After Mauro Lupo limped in from under the gun, action folded to Jeremy Joseph on the button, who raised to 36,000. The small blind called the raise before David Saab, in the big blind, reraised to 75,000. That brought the action back to Lupo, who promptly shoved for 457,000 total. Joseph and the small blind folded, but Saab made the call.

Lupo: {Q-Hearts} {9-Hearts}
Saab: {J-Hearts} {J-Spades}

The flop came down {K-Clubs} {5-Hearts} {8-Hearts} to bring Lupo a flush draw. He picked up an inside straight draw to go along with it on the {6-Clubs} turn.

"Here it comes," said Saab. "The suckout."

Lupo had a pretty big draw going into the river, and hit one of his outs when the {A-Hearts} hit to fill Lupo's flush.

Terry Stewart Eliminated

We missed the early preflop action, but we did see Terry Stewart move in for his all 235,000 of his chips. He found a customer in the big blind, Nicholas Sliwinski, although it's probably one he wished he hadn't found. Stewart showed {A-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds} against Sliwinski's {K-Spades} {K-Clubs}. Stewart couldn't come up with anything that would beat kings on a board of {9-Hearts} {2-Spades} {2-Clubs} {Q-Hearts} {6-Diamonds}.

Michelle Motors On

Tiffany Michelle raised to 48,000 from middle position and Lonnie Heimowitz flat-called from the cutoff.

The flop came {Q-Spades}{9-Spades}{2-Clubs} and both players checked. The turn was the {3-Clubs} and Michelle fired out 50,000 which was called by Heimowitz. The river landed the {Q-Diamonds} and Michelle bet out again, this time for 100,000. Heimowitz again made the call as Michelle flipped {K-Spades}{Q-Hearts} for trip queens to take down the pot.

Michelle is up to 1.78 million, with Heimowitz falling to 250,000 chips.

Let's Build Us a Nice Little Pot

Matthew Jensen raised to 50,000 from late position and Ivan Demidov reraised to 145,000 from the cutoff. Jensen shoved for his last 318,000 and Demidov called, to find that his {A-Clubs} {Q-Spades} was dominated by Jensen's {A-Spades} {K-Spades}. The board ran out {2-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds} {3-Spades} {9-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds}, Jensen doubled to 780,000, and Demidov is down to 2.04 million.

Minna Ritakorpi Busted by Boat

We caught the action on the turn with the board reading {J-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}. All the chips were in the middle with Minna Ritakorpi showing {7-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for the turned straight as Michael Carroll revealed {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs} for a set of fives.

The river was a repeat {6-Hearts} to give Carroll a full house and eliminate Ritakorpi from the Main Event.
