Nice Call

With 110,000 already in the pot and the flop showing {Q-Spades} {6-Clubs} {K-Diamonds} Ivan Demidov bet 90,000 and Brandon Becker called. When the {K-Clubs} turned Demidov checked then called when Becker bet 175,000.

The {6-Spades} fell on the river and after Ivan again checked Becker bet 325,000. Demidov tanked for over five minutes, and finally the clock was called. Demidov used up all but ten seconds of his time before announcing the call, and his time was well-spent. His {A-Hearts} {Q-Hearts} were good against Becker's {8-Spades} {8-Diamonds} and he's now up to 2.87 million. Becker now sits with 1.1 million.

Niklas Flisberg Hits Miracle River Card, Andrew Teng Eliminated

Andrew Teng
Andrew Teng
Shawn Sheikhan opened for 40,000, Niklas Flisberg reraised to 150,000, Andrew Teng reraised to 400,000, Sheikhan folded, Flisberg moved all in and Teng called.

Flisberg: {K-Clubs} {K-Diamonds}

Teng: {A-Hearts} {K-Spades}

The flop was {A-Diamonds} {5-Hearts} {3-Clubs}, giving the lead to Teng with a pair of aces. The turn was the {7-Diamonds}, but the {K-Hearts} spiked on the river, making Flisberg a set of kings. Teng was eliminated as Flisberg dragged the monster pot and increased his stack to 2,280,000.

Dale Hoy Eliminated

The exact action is unclear, but we do know that Dale Hoy was all in before the flop for his tournament life. Hoy held {A-Hearts} {10-Diamonds} and was up against the {K-Clubs} {K-Diamonds} of Jamal Sawaqdeh.

The board came {5-Clubs} {5-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds} {7-Clubs} and Hoy's ace high was no good. He hit the rail while Sawaqdeh stacked up to just over 1,400,000 on the hand.

Brad Johnson Has Been Eliminated

Brad Johnson opened the betting with a 40,000 raise and Reagan Silber called from middle position and Adam Levy from the big blind. The flop came {5-Hearts} {J-Spades} {7-Spades}. After Levy and Johnson checked, Silber bet 75,000. Levy folded but Johnson moved all in for his last 390,000. Silber called instantly and turned over {7-Diamonds} {7-Hearts} for middle set to Johnson's modest {A-Spades} {4-Hearts}. The board ran out {10-Clubs} {3-Hearts}, Johnson was eliminated, and Silber is now up to 1.7 million.

Action folded to Scott Montgomery in middle position and he opened for a standard raise. When action got to Dan Assor in the big blind, he pushed all in for roughly 300,000 and Montgomery made the call. The players showed:

Montgomery: {A-Clubs} {K-Diamonds}
Assor: {A-Spades} {8-Hearts}

The board ran out {J-Spades} {6-Hearts} {2-Diamonds} {3-Clubs} {K-Hearts} which was no help to Assor. He hit the rail and Montgomery stacked up to just over 2,300,000.

Jason Su - Eliminated
On a flop of 3-4-6, Jason Su got all of his remaining chips in the middle with {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades}, only to find himself up against Terry Lade's {6-Clubs}{3-Clubs}.

Who Needs a Flop?

Brandon Cantu opened for 55,000 raise from middle position, Ivan Demidov reraised to 160,000 from late position and Brandon Becker moved all in for 1,040,000 over the top. Cantu let his hand go and Demidov did the same after a short think. Becker took down the pot without seeing a flop.

After the hand, Cantu was down to 1,250,000 and Demidov was left with 1,520,000.

Herzog Busts Nikaj

Anton Nikaj - Eliminated
Anton Nikaj - Eliminated
A short-stacked Anton Nikaj got it all in preflop with {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} only to be up against Geoffrey Herzog's {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}.

The board ran out {Q-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{7-Spades}{9-Clubs}{4-Spades}, and Nikaj is out. That makes about sixty of the 189 who started today who have busted so far.

With that hand, Herzog now joins the 2 million chip club.

Alex Tinsley Eliminated

Alex Tinsley is out.
Alex Tinsley is out.
Alex Tinsley has been knocked out of the Main Event, but not without a little bit of strange behavior from Albert Kim. Tinsley opened the pot with a raise to 45,000. Kim, sitting in the big blind, announced a raise. Before he could count out how much of a raise he wanted to make, Tinsley reraised all in for 285,000 total.

Kim asked for a floor to be called to the table so he could determine how much was the minimum he had to raise prior to Tinsley's all-in reraise. The floor responded that Kim was obligated to make a minimum raise to 74,000. With that, Kim announced his raise to 74,000 and then added that he was calling Tinsley's reraise as well!

Tinsley: {9-Spades} {8-Spades}
Kim: {Q-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds}

It was an all-diamond flop of {A-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds}. Without running cards, Tinsley would be eliminated. He didn't get his runner-runner; the turn and river came {9-Diamonds} {j-Clubs} to make a flush for Kim.

Tinsley is out, and Kim is over two million in chips.
