Clifton Allen Eliminated

With the board reading {J-Hearts} {5-Spades} {3-Diamonds} {9-Spades} on the turn, Andrew Teng bet enough to put Clifton Allen all in and Allen made the call.

Teng: {10-Spades} {10-Diamonds}

Allen: {A-Spades} {Q-Spades}

The river was the {2-Diamonds} and Allen was eliminated, while Teng increased his stack to 530,000.

What Do You Think They Had?

Marc Podell raised to 24,000 from the cutoff, and Terry Lade called from the button. Scott Montgomery called from the small blind, and the big blind called as well.

The flop came {6-Clubs}{5-Spades}{8-Clubs}. The blinds checked, and Podell bet 60,000. Lade called, then Montgomery kicked it up to 240,000. The big blind and Podell each folded in turn, then Lade pushed all in. Montgomery decided to fold.

After the hand, Podell said he had pocket jacks. We'll never know what Lade or Montgomery had, although they gave us some interesting clues with which to guess.

Lade is now up to 1.3 million, and Montgomery down to 545,000.

Early Dismissal

Tournament Director Jack Effel announced a few minutes ago that after players come back from the dinner break, they will play only one more level tonight.

Unstoppable Chip Leader Claims Another

Joseph's Stack Still Growing!
Joseph's Stack Still Growing!
Facing a raise from the button, and a reraise from the small blind in front of him, Jeremy Joseph looked down at {K-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} in the big blind, and decided to put his big stack to work by moving 300,000 into the middle as a massive overbet.

The button folded, and Damien Creurer went into the tank. The media and ESPN cameras gathered around the table to add to the suspense, before he finally decided to gamble and moved all in for an additional 20,000. Joseph made the call.

Joseph: {K-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}
Creurer: {A-Spades}{9-Diamonds}

A courageous call by Creurer saw him hold the best hand, but the board fell {9-Hearts}{K-Spades}{8-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{K-Clubs} to give Joseph trip kings and the pot, and send Creurer to the exit.

Joseph gets his massive stack heading in the right direction again and now sits with over 2.5 million chips.

Edward Zane Eliminated

Edward Zane, he who attempted to crack kings with 2-7 offsuit earlier in the level, was just eliminated. Zane moved all in with {Q-Hearts} {Q-Spades} only to run, once again, into Sean Davis' {K-Hearts} {K-Diamonds}. Zane flopped a set when it came down {Q-Diamonds} {J-Spades} {10-Clubs}, but the {A-Spades} turned, making Davis a Broadway straight. The river was the {2-Hearts} and Zane hit the rail.

Aaron Gordon Sends Two Players Home

A short-stacked Thierry van den Berg moved all in from late position and Kristian Obbarius, next to act, called all in behind. Aaron Gordon, who had them both covered, called from the cutoff and the blinds folded. The players showed:

Van den Berg: {A-Clubs} {6-Clubs}
Obbarius: {J-Diamonds} {J-Hearts}
Gordon: {A-Diamonds} {K-Spades}

The board ran out {K-Diamonds} {10-Clubs} {8-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds} {8-Hearts} and Gordan's kings were best. He eliminated both of his opponents and chipped up to approximately 450,000 in the process.

The Mike and Gus Show

He just bluffed Mike
He just bluffed Mike
Mike Matusow made a late-position preflop raise to 22,000. The action folded to Gus Hansen in the big blind.

"You get 30 seconds, then I'm calling the floor. We're not going through all the bulls*hit," said Matusow.

Hansen put in a reraise, which prompted a fold from Matusow.

Matusow continued prattling on and mocking Hansen as the pot was pushed toward the Great Dane. Hansen, who often carries a tape recorder with him at tournaments to document his play, flipped it on.

"I just bluffed Mike Matusow," he said, to laughter from the rail.

Bill Seber Eliminated

Bill Seber
Bill Seber
Alexander Borteh raised to 20,000 under the gun and Bill Seber moved in for his last 65,000. Borteh called and his {J-Hearts} {J-Diamonds} led against Seber's {5-Clubs} {5-Diamonds}. Borteh hit a set on the {3-Spades} {J-Spades} {K-Spades} flop and when the {3-Diamonds} fell on the turn Seber was drawing dead.

Landfish Trying to Summon His Inner Landshark

Steven Landfish recently got it all in against Jeffrey Papola. Papola was the shorter of the two players and at risk of elimination, but he had the better hand with pocket kings against Landfish's Big Slick. The board ran out jack high, improving neither player. Papola doubled up, while Landfish slipped to 125,000.
