Usher to the Floor Supervisor's Table!

Aleksandar Rasic left the Amazon Room at the last break along with all of the other players in the field. It is standard operating procedure here at the WSOP; players are not allowed to be in the tournament room until roughly five minutes are left on break. When he came back from smoking, he was just a bit tardy. He found that his table, Orange #40, had been broken immediately after play resumed. The only problem was, Rasic's stack was gone.

A search was immediately commenced by the floor staff. They went from table to table looking for dead stacks; announcements were made over the P.A. system; and members of the media were consulted to see if they know where Rasic was supposed to be seated. All of those efforts proved fruitless.

Harrah's surveillance staff reviewed the footage of the incident and was able to determine that the player seated immediately beside Rasic at Orange #40, Peter Traply, had accidentally scooped up Rasic's tiny stack (approximately 60,000 chips) when he transferred his own massive stack (over 800,000) to his new table. This appeared to be completely unintentional on Traply's part; the two stacks were very close to each other on Orange #40, and Traply inadvertently swept Rasic's chips up with his own.

Once that determination was made, the floor staff approached Traply, explained the situation, and took 60,000 chips out of his stack to give back to Rasic. Thirty-five minutes into the level, Rasic was finally seated at Blue #36, Seat 3 -- the seat formerly occupied by Maya Antonius, who was one of several players to bust in the interim.

Andre Johnstone Eliminated

Andre Johnstone - Eliminated
Andre Johnstone - Eliminated
On a flop of {K-Hearts} {3-Clubs} {2-Hearts}, Andre Johnstone stacked off against Clint Schafer and with his tournament life on the line, the players showed:

Johnstone: {2-Diamonds} {2-Clubs}
Schafer: {3-Hearts} {3-Diamonds}

It was a classic "set over set" cooler for Johnstone who failed to improve. He hit the rail. After Johnstone's chips were passed over to Schafer, the latter sits on a stack of about 1,075,000.

Dragoslav Timarac Flushed

Dragoslav Timarac

Dragoslav Timarac was all in with his short stack holding {A-Spades}{A-Hearts} to be in good shape for a double up against the {A-Clubs}{5-Clubs} of Jose Barbero.

However it was all over on the flop when it arrived {9-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{10-Clubs} to give Barbero the nut flush! The turn was the {5-Spades} and the river the {9-Diamonds}, as Timarac was left shaking his head as he exited the tournament floor.

Carmel Petresco Eliminated

Carmel Petresco Eliminated
Carmel Petresco had taken a couple of recent hits and then found her last chips in the middle on a board of {Q-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{9-Spades}{K-Spades}. Petresco held top pair with {K-Clubs}{J-Clubs} but found herself outkicked by the {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds} of Cedric Kolstad.

Needing a jack to survive, the river brought the {6-Hearts} to end the Main Event run of Petresco.

Thayer Rasmussen Eliminated

Thayer Rasmussen moved all in for his remaining 46,000 from the small blind and Sylvain Coeur made the call from the big blind. Rasmussen's {A-Spades} {A-Hearts} were up against Coeur's {10-Diamonds} {10-Clubs}.

The flop was {J-Diamonds} {8-Hearts} {3-Hearts}, Rasmussen's aces still leading. Coeur picked up a gutshot straight draw on the turn when the {7-Spades} came down. The river was the devastating {9-Spades}, Coeur making a runner-runner straight to send Rasmussen to the rail.

Queen Plays for Qiu

Andrew Qiu raised to 18,000 from early position, Marc Podell called behind him, as did both of the blinds. The flop came {7-Spades}{8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}. The blinds checkd, Qiu pushed all in for 83,000, Podell called, and the blinds folded.

Qui {A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}
Podell {A-Spades}{4-Spades}

The turn was the {5-Hearts} and the river the {J-Clubs}, and Qiu's kicker played. He's up to 250,000, while Podell now has 250,000 as well.

Jani Vilmunen Eliminated

Jani Vilmunen - Eliminated
Jani Vilmunen opened for a raise to 20,000 from early position. Action folded around to Gert Andersen in the big blind, who made the call.

The flop came {7-Hearts} {5-Hearts} {2-Diamonds} and Andersen checked. Vilmunen opened for a bet of 48,000 and Andersen raised to 105,000. Vilmunen moved all in and Andersen called. The players showed:

Andersen: {7-Clubs} {7-Spades}
Vilmunen: {Q-Clubs} {Q-Spades}

Andersen had hit the flop hard and left Vilmunen's overpair in bad shape. The turn and river were no help to either player falling the {K-Spades} and {10-Clubs} respectively.

Jani Vilmunen was eliminated and Gert Andersen now works with just over 610,000 chips.

Hellmuth Helps Himself to More Chips

Phil Hellmuth on Day 3
Phil Hellmuth on Day 3
Evelyn Ng raised to 21,000 and Phil Hellmuth called in the big blind. The flop came {J-Hearts} {6-Clubs} {10-Hearts} and Hellmuth check-called Ng's 36,000 bet. He check-called again when Evelyn bet 55,000 after the {3-Diamonds} came on the turn, and he check-called again when Ng bet 80,000 when the {4-Diamonds} fell on the river. Ng showed {A-Hearts} {Q-Hearts} and Hellmuth flipped over his {K-Spades} {J-Clubs} for top pair to take down a huge pot. He's now back up to 432,000 while Ng fell to 228,000.
