William Davidson eliminated
William Davidson can say he was eliminated from the Main Event by a Nguyen -- David Nguyen

With the board showing {9-Clubs} {8-Spades} {2-Clubs} {7-Hearts} {4-Hearts}, Davidson moved all in for 11,600. Nguyen made the call with {Q-Diamonds} {Q-Spades}, a hand that was one rank better than Davidson's {J-Clubs} {j-Spades}.

Marc Goodwin Eliminated

Marc Goodwin - Eliminated
Marc Goodwin just joined the ranks of players who won't see Day 2. Goodwin got the last of his chips in the middle holding {10-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds} against the {A-Clubs} {Q-Clubs} of Chris Bell.

The board ran out {5-Hearts} {5-Clubs} {4-Clubs} {10-Clubs} {J-Diamonds} and Bell's nut flush was enough to bust Goodwin and take his stack to just shy of 55,000.

Kenna James Doubles Up

A player in early position limped in and Kenna James raised it up to 1,200. The player then reraised James all in and James called.

James: {A-Diamonds} {K-Spades}
Opponent: {8-Clubs} {8-Spades}

The board ran out {J-Diamonds} {J-Spades} {4-Spades} {K-Diamonds} {4-Hearts}, allowing James to get there on the turn. He is now up to 12,500 and looking to make a comeback.

A Sticky Wicket, That

Shane Warne was all in with {A-Spades} {K-Diamonds} to his opponent's {A-Hearts} {K-Clubs} and it looked like we were headed for a chop. That is, until two spades came on the flop and another on the turn. Both Warne and his opponent stood up to watch as the dealer burned and turned...a total blank. Both Warne and his opponent chuckled as they sat down and the chips were divvied up between them.

Bill Spadea Doubles Up

Preflop, Martin Jaeger raised to 900 and Bill Spadea called. On a flop of {Q-Spades} {A-Spades} {2-Hearts}, Spadea bet 700 and Jaeger raised to 2,000. Spadea then came over the top all in for 5,950 more. Jaeger made the call. Spadea held {Q-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds} and Jaeger held {A-?} {10-?}. The turn of the {9-Clubs} and river of {K-Spades} helped neither player and Spadea doubled up to 14,000 chips.

The Old Switcharoo

Kristy Gazes
Kristy Gazes
Kristy Gazes had been getting a massage for quite some time. Gazes had a female therapist working on her for quite some time before Chris Bell approached her table.

Bell quietly stepped in and traded places with the therapist and continued the massage himself. Gazes was instantly tipped off to the change, likely due to the difference in pressure. She turned around to see what had happened and was very surprised and happy to see Bell.

The First Satellite Winner

Tom McEvoy
Tom McEvoy
Nolan Dalla just announced that this year is the 25th anniversary of the first World Series of Poker satellite. The winner of that satellite is playing in the Main Event today. The winner of that satellite is none other than 1983 Main Event winner Tom McEvoy.

Dalla thanked McEvoy for his contribution to poker.
