Flip 4 Rollz

Greg Mueller and his opponent get it all in preflop. Mueller has {A-Spades}{K-Spades} and his opponent {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}. "Come on, let me win a race one time!" says Mueller. The board comes {10-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{K-Hearts} and Mueller doubles to 19,000.

Gold Getaway

Jamie Gold
Jamie Gold
A camera crew has stuck nearby Jamie Gold's table for most of the afternoon. With his stack now down to just under 7,000, they aren't going anywhere.

Glancing up at the ever-present boom mike positioned just above his head, Gold joked "It's like the Angel of Death."

Just now Gold had a hand in which a player on the button raised to 800 and Gold called from the big blind. Both checked the {K-Spades}{J-Spades}{7-Clubs} flop. The turn was the {5-Hearts}. Gold bet 1,000, and his opponent called.

The river brought the {8-Diamonds}, and Gold bet 2,575, leaving himself just a single 25 chip behind. His opponent went into the tank.

"If somebody is going to send me home, I hope it's you," said Gold. "What are the chances I have a straight?" he added.

"You're talking me into calling," said Gold's adversary. But after a minute or two more, he folded, showing the {J-Diamonds}.

Gold dragged the pot, showing the table his {6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} as he did. He's still alive with 8,700.

Top Five Chips

Here are the top five Day 1b chip counts at the present moment:

Patrik Antonius 98000
Michael Watson 77000
Christina Hall 66000
Erick Lindgren 63100
Stephen Ladowsky 62000

Liang Eliminates a Player

On a flop of {Q-Hearts} {J-Clubs} {2-Clubs}, Weiwen Liang bet 4,000 and was raised by a player in the cutoff to 11,300. Liang reraised all in and received a call. Liang showed {J-Spades} {J-Diamonds} and his opponent showed {A-Spades} {10-Clubs}. The turn of the {5-Spades} and river of the {4-Diamonds} helped neither player and Liang is up to 51,000 in chips.

Three Barrels, Not Enough

After an {A-Hearts} {9-Diamonds} {5-Hearts} flop, Chris McCormack bet 1,600 from the button after the blinds both checked. The player in the big blind chose to call. The {A-Diamonds} came on the turn, the big blind checked, and McCormack bet 3,075. The big blind called.

The {3-Clubs} came on the river, the big blind checked, and McCormack bet 5,000. Once again the big blind called, and McCormack revealed the {K-Clubs} {J-Spades}. His opponent showed {9-Hearts} {8-Spades} for the pair of nines and scooped the pot. McCormack is down to 20,000.

James Drops a Pot

Kenna James
Kenna James
Kenna James limped into the pot along with a few others. The flop came down {5-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds} {2-Hearts}. Edward Teems bet out 1,000 into the pot of 2,000. James made the call and the others in the hand folded.

The turn was the {8-Diamonds}. Teems checked and James bet 2,400. Teems made the call.

The river was the {9-Spades} and both players checked. James looked ready to turn over his hand, but Teems flipped over the {A-Diamonds} {3-Clubs} first for the wheel and then James mucked.

James dropped down to 22,300.

Garaventa Sucks Out

Jody Garaventa
Jody Garaventa
Jody Garaventa had his opponent all in preflop. Garaventa held pocket nines and was behind his opponent's pocket tens. Garaventa had about nine times the chips of his opponent when the money went in.

The flop came down {7-Diamonds} {6-Clubs} {4-Spades}. Just as the ESPN cameras focused in, the {9-Diamonds} hit the felt. The {7-Spades} completed the board and Garaventa's full house as he came from behind to win the 5,000 pot. He's now up to 23,000.

Sundbo vs Koskas

In two back-to-back hands Eric Koskas and Sverre Sundbo have clashed, with the honors shared.

In the first hand Sundbo fired a 5,000 on the river on a board of {5-Spades}{6-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}, with Koskas making the call. Sundbo tabled {6-Spades}{6-Hearts} for a full house to take down the pot and leave Koskas in trouble.

However, Koskas got his revenge when he flopped the wheel with {A-Hearts}{3-Hearts} on a flop of {4-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{5-Hearts}. Sundbo pushed with his {J-Clubs}{10-Clubs} flush draw but couldn't connect when the board ran out {2-Spades}, {7-Diamonds}.

Koskas is back to 13,000 with Sundbo now on 50,000.
