Gambling Rousso

A player in late position raised to 500 before Vanessa Rousso called in the cutoff. Then a player in the small blind reraised to 1,700, which was not enough to scare off the other two, and they called.

The flop was {4-Hearts} {6-Hearts} {8-Clubs}, prompting the small-blind player to lead out for 5,000. There was a fold before Rousso raised all in for 25,000. The small-blind player called all in for less.

Rousso flipped over {A-Hearts} {10-Hearts} to her opponent's {Q-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts}.

Rousso would need to hit a heart or an ace. The turn {J-Spades} and river {A-Diamonds} came, doubling Rousso up to 42,300, and her opponent is out.

Lehr Jets Home on AA

Keith Lehr, who had his aces cracked earlier by a player who'd made a lower set, just ran into trouble with aces again. With the board showing {7-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{9-Hearts}, Lehr got the last of his chips in the middle with {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds} only to run up against a player holding {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades}. The river was a {J-Hearts}, and Lehr is out.

Going for Gold

The tide is turning for Jamie Gold. First, he got an opponent to pay off his rivered flush by asking the player not to call down Gold's bet of 1,500 on the river. The player did, only to see that Gold had the second nuts.

Then a few hands later, with 7,000 chips in the pot, Gold bet 3,500 on a board of {9-Clubs} {7-Spades} {3-Hearts} {A-Hearts} {A-Diamonds}. As he made the bet, Gold said, "I got you." His opponent called anyway, prompting Gold to say again, "I got you. I got you." Curiously, despite the fact that Gold had yet to open his hand, the other player mucked.

Gold dragged the pot without opening his hand and is now up to about 25,000 in chips.

Borge's Stack Dyps

On a flop of {J-Clubs} {7-Hearts} {7-Spades} Howard Smith checked from the small blind, a middle position player bet 1,200, Borge Dypvik called from the cutoff, and Smith folded. The turn was the {10-Diamonds} and both players checked. The river was the {7-Clubs}. The MP player checked, Dypvik bet 1,200 and the MP player called.

Dypvik showed {K-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds} for a full house, but his opponent had the best hand with {Q-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts} for the bigger boat. Dypvik was down to 11,050 after the hand.

Tread Carefully

With the board reading {6-Spades} {K-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds} {J-Clubs} {3-Clubs} the player who'd raised from under the gun checked and Haralabos Voulgaris bet 9,400. The other player called and Voulgaris showed {A-Clubs} {10-Clubs} for the nuts. "At least I lose the minimum," the other player said as he tabled {K-Diamonds} {K-Clubs} for the flopped set that lost out on the turn. Voulgaris is now up to 35,100.

Aces Are Bueno

On the turn, with a board of {8-Diamonds} {3-Clubs} {4-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds}, Eddy Bueno and another middle-position player move all in against a player in the cutoff position. The cutoff-position player called. Bueno showed {A-Diamonds} {A-Hearts} and his opponents showed {K-Clubs} {K-Spades} and {Q-Clubs} {8-Clubs}.

The {3-Spades} on the river eliminated the middle-position player and crippled the cutoff player. Bueno is up to 44,000 after the hand.

Mueller Climbing Back

Preflop, Greg Mueller in the cutoff and four other players limp in.

The flop is {6-Spades}{7-Spades}{2-Clubs} and everyone checks to Mueller, who bets 600. Only the button calls.

The turn is {J-Diamonds} and Mueller checks. The button bets 1,175. Mueller check-raises all in to 1,925. The button calls again and shows {5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}. Mueller has {10-Hearts}{7-Hearts}. The river is {K-Diamonds} and Mueller has 8,700.

Per Svensson Eliminated

Noble Simpson raised it up to 1,500 preflop before Per Svensson made it 4,000 to go. Simpson made the call.

They saw a flop of {K-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{7-Clubs} and Simpson checked to Svensson, who moved all in for his last 13,000. Simpson snap-called and tabled {A-Clubs}{K-Spades} for top pair and nut flush draw, but he would need to hit, as Svensson showed {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}.

The turn was the {A-Hearts} but the river sealed the deal with the {8-Clubs} completing the flush and sending Svensson to the exit.

Shaun Deeb Flops a Boat

Shaun Deeb
Shaun Deeb
With the preflop action folded to him in the small blind, Shaun Deeb raised to 600 and the big blind called. The flop was {10-Diamonds} {10-Clubs} {4-Clubs} and both players checked. The turn was the {J-Spades}. Deeb bet 1,025, the big blind raised to 3,000 and Deeb called. The river was the {6-Clubs} and they checked it down.

Deeb turned over {4-Diamonds} {4-Hearts} for a full house, besting the big blind's {Q-?} {10-?} and he dragged the pot. Deeb is now back up to his starting stack of 20,000 after taking some early hits.
