Juanda Taking Names

John Juanda has been on quite a roll, eliminating two players back-to-back and moving his stack up to 40,000.

The first player was eliminated on a board of {6-Hearts} {3-Diamonds} {9-Hearts} when a player made it 1,500 to go and Juanda called. The turn brought the {10-Spades} and his opponent moved all in for 4,925 and Juanda called showing {10-Hearts} {8-Hearts} for top pair while his opponent held {A-Diamonds} {J-Clubs} .

The hand immediately after, a player moved all in preflop and had Juanda covered. Juanda instantly called and turned over pocket aces, while his opponent showed pocket jacks. The board brought little help for his opponent, giving Juanda a strong chip stack going into the second break of the day.
