Michael Herrera raised to 9,000 from under the gun. Then Men "the Master" Nguyen reraised to 29,000 from middle position.

"I raise under the gun and you still reraise me," said Herrera. "You must have a big hand." Herrera showed his {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}, then folded.

"Good fold," said Nguyen, and showed his {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}. Men is up to 117,000.

Why Can't We Be Friends?

A player under the gun pushed all in for 16,000, and J.C. Tran, who had about 130,000, made the call. Tran showed {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}, and his opponent {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}.

Before the flop, Tran suggested they chop the pot, if no one else objected. That drew some laughs.

The eights held up, and Tran took a small hit. He now has 115,000.

Bad Day for Monarchs

A player in middle position pushed his last 15,000 in the middle, Jason Moungey called from the button, then Eugene Todd reraised all in to 60,000 from the big blind. Moungey called.

Todd showed {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}, the MP player {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}, and Moungey {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}.

The flop came A-A-10, and Moungey went from way behind to way in front. The turn and river were both eights, and both Todd and the MP player were busted. Moungey is now up to 150,000.

Break a Leg

We sometimes report on tables breaking. Well, now we mean it literally.

A leg on Table #8 is broken, so staff have moved the players who had been sitting there elsewhere. A bit awkward as that table sits right in the middle of the group of tables currently being used for our event.

Mueller Continues Run

Greg Mueller raised preflop for 6,000 and Larry Marshall moved all in for another 24,000 more. Greg called and showed {A-Hearts} {K-Hearts} while Marshall turned over A-10. Marshall spiked a 10 on the flop and Greg failed to improve.

The following hand, Greg made it 6,000 again preflop and a player at his table raised it to 18,000. Greg reraised to 58,000 and his opponent folded. Immediately after, Jon Friedberg, who's currently sitting at the same table, asked "Can I have a table change? This table's a little crazy."

Greg is back up to 120,000.

Pocket Pairs = Action

Jon Friedberg just eliminated a player when his pocket rockets held up against J-J. Friedberg is up 140,000.

Nancy Tyner also won a nice pot when her pocket queens held up against 7-7. She's up to 110,000.

Merkow Not Enjoying the Vu

Tommy Vu
Tommy Vu
That was Gregg Merkow who was involved in those hands with Tommy Vu from before. The pair just clashed again, and this time Vu had pocket kings vs. Merkow's pocket queens.

"That's so sick," said Merkow, echoing an oft-uttered poker player's lament. Vu's kings held up, and he's bounced way back up to 145,000. Merkow is down to 28,000.
